They're also striking with the increasing use of AI and (rightfully so) free for their jobs in the future, or at least the writers are. Yes and the studio bosses are only looking for $$$ the art of filmmaking is not important anymore. It's been a business for a LONG time now. Just look at the horror genre and why SAW has 10+entries or FRIDAY THE 13TH. Quantity over quality.

Foreign directors who had worked there have also been critical about the big studios over the years. The writers and actors can change that hopefully.
