A macabre shot, but I thought some of my Mafia comrades here would get a kick out of it! I couldn't upload it here for some reason, but you can click HERE . All the photos in this gallery may be mob hits for all I know, but I'm sure you experts know for sure! Enjoy!

Most likely Costello didn't order the hit on Reles. As you probably know, a "rope" made of torn bedsheets was found dangling from the window, indicating that Reles was trying to escape. Suicide was another theory. But since six cops were assigned to guard him in his room, and all of them supposedly fell asleep at the same time, the most enduring theory is that he was pushed. Who ordered the push? Some people believe it was Albert Anastasia. Reles had been testifying against Louis (Lepke) Bucholter, boss of the garment rackets and chief of Murder, Inc. When Lepke was arrested, Anastasia inherited both the labor rackets and Murder Inc. Anastasia had been the chief customer (and some say, a partner) in Murder, Inc., previously, so he had an incentive to order Reles' death to keep himself out of Reles' further confessions.

Cool stuff!

Doesn't need to be alot of visible blood from a plummet out the window. Looks from his face like the jaw was broken, probably mucho internal injuries and bleeding as well.

Personally, I would love to know what happened to the fellow in Photo #1. Doesn't look to have been shot...maybe strangled w/ his necktie. What an expression!

As I recall, he landed in a sitting position breaking his back on impact. He was probably laid out and his shirt opened by the coroner.
