My vote goes to Lucky Luciano.
Just a little question: Where are the Sicilians?
Contrary to popular belief, Unix is userfriendly. It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.

My vote went to ol' Scarface himself. The question was, who was the most famous, not the most dangerous, influential or powerful. With that in mind it has to be Alphonse....as for the rest.

Yes you're right, FH...it was Rumania. Thanks, Apple PS - Here's a neat link to Dillinger's story. Maybe charming, but about as mean as they come... http://www.crimelibrary.com/americana/dillinger/dillingermain.htm

The way they ambushed him outside that cinema was a disgrace, they ought to be ashamed, that was totally dis-honorable. Sorry folks, I just like John Dillinger. [/b][/quote]9/10 of Mafia Hits ARE Dishonorable! No more dishonor than Gotti having his own boss murdered outside of a steak restaurant over a 9 year Vendetta. Luciano had his Boss Masseria killed by four other people while he was there, Masseria may not have realized Luciano betrayed him. Stefano Maggadino tried to kill his own Cousin. Maranzano was murdered in his office. Frank Scalise a famous Boss wasn't even given a chance to confront death, he was killed while buying oranges. Frank Costello was shot in the ear and lived to tell about it. Carmine Galante was killed while still chewing on his Cigar. Are there ANY respectable hits? EVERYBODY knows Scarface Al Capone. Who ever heard of John Gotti? What about Don Vito Cascio Ferra..Sicily?
