Can somebody please list the current Bosses for each of the five families of NY. I know Quiet Dom is the acting boss for Genovese while the Chin runs things behind bars. I know Joe Massino runs the Bonanno family. I THINK Persico JR is running the Colombos or is it Andy Russo? and who is running the Lucchese family? Is Gene Gotti still in charge of the Gambinos? I need an update! Turnbull...anybody! Thanks .

Joe Bonanno, what would lead you to belive that Salvatore Bonanno is still involved with the NYC Bonanno crime family?
And what would make him the most respected?
Not trying to start an argument, more like a debate.
Salvatore was not highly respected in the mid to late 60's and his elevation to Consiglieri caused the Banana war. Many people in the family felt he had not paid his dues, then, and resented his rise to power, in addition, his marital problems caused a rift between Both Bonanno Sr, and himself and the Profaci realtives, and was used against him by other Family heads.
Also he is very public about his life now, in addtion to writing two books, his wife also wrote one, and producing his fathers movie.
I know that when the Bonanno's moved west in '68 they still had contact with capos in NYC and Cananda, but what makes you think that he still has those now?

Thanks for the information Turi. Yea Crime Library is a great website, I've learned lots from it. Ive also grown quite fond of Mr. Joe Massino over the past few days because from what I've read he is a real wiz with todays technology (FBI bugs and such) and knows how to keep La Cosa Nostra a secret like it should be. If more current Bosses would take after him LCN may still have a chance at becoming more organized once again, and not a bunch of drug dealing rats if you will. As for the Lucchese boss of today....I dono who it is but an older website I found from the year 2000 says Steven L Crea was boss at the time, could he still be? Im not sure what his current status is.
