hey everybody good point AGAIN by apple
hey apple,
I think the problem is this, you brought up a point that you had no knowledge of. And when someone came at you with some facts you couldn't do anything but bit.h and moan about it. At no time did you bring up one good arguement or point all in all you had nothing to say.

First of all, sorry to Apple for quoting her on a post that should have been private that may or may not actually be her words. But it is a very good point. The same can be said about Churchill although he was never martyred, he's only remembered as a hero today when infact he was far from it. But people refuse to hear the truth about it.

well now that your in the conversation and you agreed with apple on JFK maybe i should enlighten you a little bit. For example do you remeber the Vietnam war? well did you know National Security Action Memoranda 263 issued in oct of '63 ordered the first 1000 u.s. troops home by x-mas. Also JFK planned to end ALL U.S. involvement in Vietnam by the end of '64. Thats not all either did you also happen to know that Kennedy started our space program the most successful one the world has ever known? Did you also know that along with his brother Robert and Martin L. King Jr. started the wheels in motion for Civil Rights in America for African Americans. Oh yea did you also know that the Bay of Pigs wich some people blame on Kennedy was in fact a CIA operation started by Eisenhower? And the reason for not providing air cover for the Cubans was because the U.S.S.R. was on its way with Nuclear Weapons. Who do you think prevented that? yea thats right Kennedy and he did this all in under 3 years. So please don't talk like an idiot.

Sure that's how you debate, back up opinions with facts. But not once have you done this within this thread. You have made a load of sweeping statements with no proof with them. For example the following quote by you has no facts in it whatsoever, they MAY or MAY not be true. The simple fact is you've provided no proof at all. I don't know anything about Kennedy and it would be nothing short of foolish of me to just believe your comments. Originally posted by Don'tForgetTheCannolis: You all really piss me off who think Kennedy was a bad president. -Kennedy oredered the first 1000 troops home from Vietnam by x-mas '63 -Kennedy planned to have all U.S. involvement in Vietnam to end in '64 -Kennedy started the greatest space program in the world -Kennedy started the wheels with MLK for Civil Rights among African Americans -THE CIA FAILED IN THE BAY OF PIGS -Kennedy saved our country from nuclear war
You want to know why Kennedy didn't want to provide air cover for the Cubans in the bay of pigs? b/c russia was on its way with NUCLEAR WEAPONS? -Your all a bunch of f-ing idiots for speaking our of your ass Nota Bene, If you ever tried that in an exam you'd fail straight away. And don't say you're not a kid when clearly you are. Thanks for calling me a bitch.

Listen, Cannolis, you made your point already.
You cited your reasons why you though JFK was a great president. Apple said he wasn't. You asked her for some specific examples why he wasn't. She didn't provide any. You pointed that out.
We can all read here. You just made the same point about six times. Enough already, man.
Apple's a big girl. She certainly doesn't need me to defend her. As a matter of fact, she and I disagree on just about everything political. I'm not defending her, I'm criticizing you.
As you say, a debate is an exchange of facts, ideas, and points. Not personal attacks on the individuals who are participating, and the repetition of the same point over and over.

your welcome first of Turi. Second i did give facts in my post right before your last one and if you want me to give authors, books, and pages thats no problem i will. Just so you know though they are facts i'm very strong with this topic b/c i admire the man very much but i also have dont a lot of research as well. I'm very educated on the subject and i wouldn't be talking about it if i wasn't alright.

And as someone pointed out, he has so far failed to do that. Best, Apple ps - plawrence is right, we completely disagree on everything political. But I like him anyway.

good point plawrence i respect that and your right. I was pointing it out to turi, and to me its just frustrating when you have a wealth of knowledge on a subject and no one takes you seriously thats all. I also just wanted to enlighten turi b/c he claimed he wasn't great and then goes on to admit he knew nothing about the man. Frustrating pure and simple but your right.

And let me add, BTW, that I think JFK was a good, not great, president.
But I am somewhat of a student of his assassination, and, as such, have read an awful lot about him and his presidency.
Yes, the Bay of Pigs invasion was a CIA operation about which JFK was misled, but I have never heard the claim that the reason he failed to provide air cover was because the Soviets were "on the way with nuclear weapons"
On the way where? They were gonna start WW III by dropping nuclear bombs on the USA? Or were they gonna drop them on the beach on the invaders, and wipe out the rest of Cuba in the process.
I think you're confusing this incident with the Cuban Missle Crisis, which took place later, when we placed a naval blockade around Cuba, and forced Russian ships which were carrying nuclear weapons to Cuba to turn around.

well what happend plawerence is this the invasion happend. When Russia got wind of this the Nuclear weapons weren't "on the way" as i said that was a little misleading. What in fact happend was the upsetting of Russia which lead to them setting up nuclear weapon sites in Cuba which then led to the blockade of Cuba as you pointed out by the U.S. and there you have the Cuban Missle Crisis which by the way Kennedy avoided.

What I meant plawrence was that Kennedy got word for Kruschev (spelling I know) of what would happen if he did provide air cover. The result they came with them anyway it was the wrong choice of words alright plawrence.
