I got a question about Frank Viviano....I have a book of him called "Blood washes Blood" and the only thing I want to know is:

Is Frank Viviano a journalist who has roots in the Sicilian Mafia or was he a journalist who was member of the Sicilian Mafia? On the internet I can't find information clearing this for me.

I don't believe that Frank Viviano has had any first hand accounts in the mafia, altthough, as you know, his family definately did. Blood Washes Blood is a very good book, I am in the middle of reading it right now, but as far as I believe he was never in La Cosa Nostra.

"I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life--I don't apologize--to take care of my family, and I refused to be a fool, dancing on the string held by all those bigshots. I don't apologize--that's my life--but I thought that, that when it was your time, that you would be the one to hold the string. Senator Corleone; Governor Corleone."

Viviano is an American journalist (San Francisco Chronicle) who got interested in the Sicilian Mafia because his grandfather told him that his grandfather (Viviano's great-great grandfather) was a famous Mafioso. So, his book started as a kind of geneological effort.
