Tonight my wife and I went to see "Way of the Wiseguy", the play starring Leo Rossi in a one-man show about the life of Donnie Brasco/Joe Pistone. It was an excellent play. The angle that they worked on is that the wiseguy was always worried about something they did was going to get them killed.
After the play, I actually got to meet Leo Rossi and Joe Pistone. Both were very gracious and both signed my copy of "Way of the Wiseguy".
If you're in Chicago, I urge you to see this play. Hopefully it will tour elsewhere.
I came, I saw, I had no idea what was going on, I left.

It was kind of strange though. When I met them, I didn't really know what to say. I'm sure that Joe Pistone was sizing me up, he was really quiet. And.. I guess I kinda tried to look the part.
Basically it was Leo Rossi who broke the ice. My wife and I were talking to him about the play, I mentioned about how they threw Action Jackson into it (giving the primarily New York-based play some local flavor, if you will) and somehow I mentioned Bill Roemer. He then turned to Joe and said, "Hey Joe, Bill Roemer, you know him right?" And then Joe said he did. I basically thanked him for his work and told him I was a fan of his book Deep Cover. (one of his fictional works taking the Donnie Brasco character out of New York) Afterward, both signed my copy of Way of the Wiseguy for me.
I came, I saw, I had no idea what was going on, I left.
