Why don't they just make another Mafia movie without the Corleones???

A lotta people would be down with just a new Nafia film that isn't even connected with the Godfather. I know I would.

I would love to see another good "gangster" film. I guess for us here on the BB we would love to see the saga of the Corleones continue, but know that any sequels won't surpass the first two. Yet, we still have hope.

It's just that it would be asking a lot if we expected it to equal GF, but if we realize that it's not likely and just want a great film, then why not.

i aggree, i would also like to see another good gangster film, there havent been many good ones after the gfs. but there has been analyze this and analyze that, which are kinda like gf spoofs. i think there would be a triology and the third one will be called analyze the other. but i would still also like to see gf 4, i want part of the story to be about what happened during the time between marys death on palermo and the death of michael.

I like to see another story all together. That way, they wouldn't have to pick the bones of the Godfather, and they could re-use actors that were in the trilogy.

What I would like to see movies about characters side of their stories from The Godfather, and how their feuds or connections were to the Corleone Family and other families.

I don't mind seeing a movie that continues the characters, though it doesn't need to be called "The Godfather Part IV".

Maybe they could just create a story based on Vincent Corleone's reign as the new Don and just call the film "Don Vincent" - I seem to recall that FFC supposedly wanted to originally call GF2 "Don Michael". Anyway Godfather 1,2 and 3 were about Michael Corleone anyway. "Don Vincent" could be seen as being a spin-off of the original story perhaps? Or does that sound like it would cheapen the trilogy?

I honestly can't remember where I heard about the title "Don Michael". Maybe it was from FFC's audio commentary on the GF2 DVD. I can't confirm that at the moment as I've loaned my DVD to a friend.

Sounds like it would cheapen the trilogy. IMO, any more Godfather films or books are going to cheapen the trilogy.

It is in The Godfather Legacy. Part II was known by a host of names before its actual name: Michael Corleone, Don Michael, The Son of Don Corleone and probably more.

Part III was originally called The Death of Michael Corleone.

Thats right and i wouldnt want to see a part 4 anyway.The trilogy would become a quadruple and that would be ajoke.I would like to see a spin off with the corleones and characters we know but still apart from the trilogy and not an addition to it.

I saw it, thought it was pretty good, but I didn't see it as a gangster film. Certainly not in the same vein as GF, Casino, Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco. I thought it was more about the story of a hitman who didn't want his son to follow in his footsteps. To me, that's the only thing it had in common w/GF1.
