Yeah, I was being satirical/facetious/disingenuous/whatever you want to call it in my post with the proposed cast. I know, of course, that this thread is about a satirical Godfather remake and there are no plans for such a remake nor (in my opinion for the time being) should there be. I know it's fun to speculate what a possible remake would look like using today's actors and I was just having a little fun with it myself. I meant no offense Don Z., I was a little pissed cuz I thought that you guys had misinterpreted what was clearly meant to be a joke or you knew it was a joke and were just yanking my chain so to speak. In that case, then, I misinterpreted your responses. In any case, I heard a rumour that The Godfather Part III.V is coming out soon and it will feature Michael Corleone coming back from the dead and hunting down all the members of Mosca's family and exacting sweet revenge on them one by one. :p

Come it's just for fun I mean... come on are there actually real plans to make The Godather Part IV... it's all about WHAT IF... and what's your personal comment about it... No one would accept a remake to such a masterpiece like that... I mean not now... maybe after 1000 years lol or less so there's somekinda misunderstanding by you guys... so cool down AMIGOS

...until they get it right. The Godfather ISN'T a software?
Hahaha! I hate remakes and I hate the rumors for a GFIV. If they were going to make one, they have to make sure that it is after my death so I wouldn't have to watch it (I mean, if I was alive, then I would be curious, lol). The thing about a fourth film is that Godfather will equal Star Wars, and I don't really want that. We don't need a series of sequels/prequels. The last scene of GFIII shows Michael's death and even though it does leave many questions because of the fast-forwarding of the years between, it doesn't matter: Michael is dead. I have always thought of Michael as the protagonist of the film. I can't really see a film that centers on middle-age Vito and kid-Michael. In other words, Al Pacino is Michael. And if there was a sequel/prequel-thing like Part II, I have almost zero interest in Vincent. As for remakes (which I hope will never ever happen for as long as live), I can't really imagine anyone taking over any of the roles. Even though I am actually quite fond of Danny DeVito (De-Vito! ... get it?) he is no Marlon Brando or Robert De Niro (yeah, I get that the remake cast is a joke but still ...) When I first saw the first GF film, I thought that Jake Gyllenhaal had a slight resemblence of Pacino but after I saw the whole trilogy, Gyllenhaal doesn't even come close to the acting skills Pacino has. Just ask Hollywood to stick to original storyline and everything will be okay

I personally would NEVER accept such an idea like that because of many reasons!!!! *What about you? I really would like to know WHY? after you vote... *Don Zadjali Considering how Hollywood no longer considers the art but simply looks movies as product to be moved, nothing would surprise me.

You've got a point, DBC...allow me to clarify.
Silent movies don't count, and adaptations BASED on Broadway Productions BASED upon the original story don't count either.
I meant The Wizard of Oz, MGM production starting Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley and Frank Morgan, directed by Victor Flemming and produced by Mervyn LeRoy in 1939, the CLASSIC and one & only memorable version, to which all others are compared.
Incedentally, since you brought it up...'The Wiz' is concrete proof that some classics should not be remade. I saw the play and it was very good. I saw the movie and it was not very good.
Thanks for the opportunity, DeathByClotheshanger.

Paramount Pictures decides to REMAKE The Godfather Part I !!!!! As I pondered in another thread, it'll sadly and probably happen. Either as an outright movie or a "TNT Original" miniseries. To add to the infamita, they'll also give the job to Chris Columbus or Michael Bay or even Peter Jackson (who'll be ready with a CGI Khartoum).

The Godfather is a classic film dont tamper with it Exactly! They only give them a negative image.

Another thing, I don't want the GF to be glamorized like everything else in today's media. The GF is a great legend, something that should be referred to, but not the way the media does it. Kinda like the Holy Bible. I hope the day never comes when they remake The Godfather.

A GF IV is okay for me, but a remake isn't. The best part about GF I and II were the actors, who were some of the best of the last 30 years (Brando, De Niro, Pacino, Caan, Duvall,...). Plus they played their top part in The GF, an accumulation of quality Actors whoressemble them could play a younger version of the characters in flashbacks in GF IV, but they could never replace the originals. And who should direct it? Scorsese, Sergio Leone (is he still alive), ... ?? My first thought is to agree with this post. I would rather a GF4 than a remake of GF1 and GF2. What would be gained? Other than drawing in the current generation in the GF Geek Zone and $$$ GF1 and 2 just worked... timing and everything... even if you could make a better remake... no one would believe it to be... IMO I think GF4 should be shot in a GF2 type style.. flashbacks with Vincent and Sonny and other things(like it or not Vincent is Sonny's boy) and NOW a Corleone. I think Anthony should ride a similar parallet to Michael. He didnt want part of family biz and now he has to... why? I dunno... to save family like Michael did... by whatever story is chosen... maybe Anthony vs. Vincent(like Anakin vs. Kenobi) LOL Just my passing thoughts
