Nas has a rap song that has the hook of A3's "Soprano's" theme song. No big surprise really, just a heads up for the hip-hop heads. I know someone on here loves 2pac. Anyway.

I thought it was pretty stupid that it was a song. Anyway, I guess there are a lot of Sopranos fans out there.

Here's one of 'em! But as far as the title song goes, I could take it or leave it. I think the lyrics are very appropriate for The Sopranos (esp. Tony), but I woulda' preferred more of a hard rock kinda' beat. I think for the most part, the music they select for the show is pretty good.

I think Nas must be a big fan of Mob movies/TV shows. In his latest song (w/ J. Lo) he talks about the movie Casino and in one of his videos he acts out one of the scene where DeNiro and Pesci are covering their mouths while talking to avoid government hired lip readers.
Also I don't know if any of you watch MTV Cribs, but every rap star/pro athlete seems to insist on mentioning that they have the movie Scarface on DVD.
"My offer to you is this..nothing. Not even the fee for the gaming license, which I would appreciate if you would put up personally." -Michael Corleone to Senator Pat Geary.

another thing that pisses me off is JaRule's label "Murder Inc". The label Ashanti is also on. Her video "Foolish" is all based on Goodfellas.

Whoa, Lord forbid if an African- American should come to this thread, and be offended by some of the comments. Unless they arent intelligent enough to find this board and post.

Yeah Corleone, atleast the Irish had some sort of gang going on, I know i'm not italian that's why I used this name. But all blacks have is.. the black panthers and crip and shit. I don't think it is right for them to think they are italian, I don't think I am.

Well I wrote that because I am black, and I did feel a little, offended with just a few of the comments, but I don't want to make it into a big thing, I just wanted everyone to know that some opinions may be a little TOO open and should be kept in. But no problems here.

In my family we always were taught never to be afraid to say what we thought. I do think it's true. We are far too politically correct in America. I don't mean to stir up trouble, though. Maybe it is because of where I live, but in my mind blacks aren't minorities. Down here in Louisiana black people have a lot of power and influence. I also believe that the only thing holding African-Americans back are their own attitudes. I have many black friends, and I live in an area where the population is equal parts black and white. Some black people I know cannot let go of the past and just consider themselves American. The rest are being held back by those who create a bad image for themselves. There is a difference between remembering your heritage and wanting to be seperated from whites all together. I just hope that one day color won't matter... even if it isn't until after I die.

Guinea Guarino, I respect your honesty and you do make some valid points. For example, in regards to political correctness: a couple months ago on one of the CNN news shows the discussion was about "racial profiling" and whether there should a more extensive search/profile of "mid eastern" men or those of mid eastern decent who board planes in lieu of 911. Personally, I don't see why there should even have been a discussion about it. Those against of course thought it wasn't fair. I say, if that is where the trail is leading, we need to follow and pursue that trail for the safety and security of our county and it's people. I am Italian/American (Siclian): And had these terrorists all been of Italian decent, I would have no objection whatsoever to be interrogated/searched/questioned more than the other passengers. I just don't understand how anyone could object!!!

I agree whole-heartedly with Guineapig. I mean, it's just not right. Whites are constantly verbally abused by blacks and it's tossed off as "joking." But, as soon as a white person says something a tad bit offensive, we are jumped all over. I mean, God forbid we mad a WET,(White Entertainmant Television) we'd be written off as racists! And, I'm not a racist. I have alot of black friends... But, what's fair is fair, and what's right is right. Whites have no privlages or rights anymore. It's fucked up.

Santino-I can definitely understand why you find some of the comments offensive....I dont see why is it not ok for African-Americans to want to be Italian but it is ok for Irish to want to be Italian. Is it ok for Irish to want to be African-American (i know many people who fit that description-my sister included!) or for Italians to want to be African-American? I dont think one can be justified and not the other.

I have been reading this thread for a while, and I think this is all lame. I am ethnically Filipino, but growing up in Southern California by the beach, all of my friends and neighbors happened to be blonde, caucasian, and liked to surf. I did things that they did, like surfing and skateboarding, so was I trying to be white? No. I was just being exactly what I was, which is a Southern Californian.
I have a cousin who goes to boarding school in England. He's half Filipino and half Norweigian, but he's got an English accent. Is he trying to be English? No. He just speaks like that because he spent his formative years in England and has adapted their customs.
People give Eminem a lot of crap because he's a white rapper, but he grew up in an area where he was exposed to the rap culture, so that's what he knew. If anything, these people who are allegedly "trying" to be like another culture are much more open-minded than a lot of you, who think that because your ancestors happen to be from a certain country that you "own" the rights to the beat of the Sopranos theme song.
