Teams should just go away from the jersey-and-pants gotta be the same color gimmick. They don't look cool! The Bengals, Eagles, Saints, Bills, Seahawks, etc. The best uni in the League besides the Green and Gold, are the Chargers.

Good - Jets, Giants, Raiders. Nice. Bad - Green Bay, Chicago, Minnesota. Too old looking. Ugly - Tennessee, Seattle, Tampa Bay. Just ugly colors and combinations.
As far as the same color trend, it is a mixed bag. I liked the all black Bungles, the all green Jets, and the all black Bears. But some are just plain ugly.
The best uniforms in all of sports: Michigan football.

I'm still a big fan of the USC uniforms, mainly because those are the same colors I wore in high school. The Titans logo looks like a thumb tack that's on fire. The Silver and Black of the Raiders is beautiful, and their uniforms belong on any short list of great football uniforms.

The winged helmet has nothing to do with the mascot. In that sense, it's rather stupid. The story goes that most teams back in the early 1900's wore black helmets. Fritz Crisler, the U of M coach, got the idea that in order to help his QB find recievers down the field, U of M should have some type of distinctive mark on the helmet. In those days, many teams had their recievers play with red helmets, but Crisler didn't like the idea of team mates with different helmets. So he came up with the maize and blue, and the winged helmets. To this day, I would say that the helmet is the most recognized emblem in all of sports.

Best uniforms, hands down, belong to the Browns - such a classic look, especially with the logo-less helmet. Awesome.
I prefer the all-white look or the brown jerseys, but the Kardiac Kids orange pants didn't look too bad on Sunday (if only it helped them play better).
I am not, however, a fan of the prison-issue orange jerseys. All these teams coming out with third jerseys is just a gimmick to sell more merchandise.
Ugly uniforms - Seattle, Buffalo, Tennesee(Corpuzzi, you must read TMQ on Page 2), Baltimore and of course, Pittsburgh (I can't find any redeeming qualities in this gawd-awful team/city).

I think that the Cleveland uniforms and helmet are ugly, but they have a classic feel to them that's hard to hate and impossible to replace. I took a look at TMQ, I agree with most of it.

DC, you are correct. Ol' 98 belongs to Tom Harmon. As for the other Heisman winners, I doubt they will ever be retired. First of all, Tom Harmon was undoubtedly one of the greatest collegiate players of all time. While the same can be said about MOST Heisman winners, including Howard and Woodson, there is something that sets him apart. He came in the pre-Bo era, when great players could be treated like Gods. This all changed when Coach Schembechler came to Ann Arbor, and instilled the Michigan spirit that can only be summed up by one of his famous quotes: "The team, the team, the team!"
As good as Howard and Woodson were (and I've never seen anyone as good as Woodson in my life, nor will I ever), I doubt that the program will retire their numbers. No man, regardless of any trophy, is bigger than Michigan.
PS. President Ford wore #48 if I am not mistaken. That # is also retired.

PS. President Ford wore #48 if I am not mistaken. That # is also retired. You are correct. I looked it up, and President Ford did wear #48 at Michigan. I also saw that #11, 47, and 87 are retired in addition to Ford's number and Harmon's. One reason that players from Harmon's era have legendary status is probably because many of his exploits were never actually seen, only talked about. Most people got their football on the radio or in the newspapers, and people created their own visions of what these players did in their heads. With TV and internet these days, you can see everything for yourself and that makes legend status hard to come by. To get back on the topic, I don't see why everyone thinks that the Penn State uniforms are all that great. I think they're ugly. The classic look is a little played out, IMO.

Olypic Rings, schmolympic rings. When I was a kid, I got that mixed up with the Audi logo. And Michigan isn't some small school that is only recognized by locals. Out of all collegiate sports, can you name one thing more deeply engrained in the minds of the public. See the helmet, think Michigan football. See Michigan football, think about the helmet. Aside from maybe Notre Dame's golden helmets, nothing comes close, at least for me.
DC, you are probably right. The swoosh is huge. But I was referring to something associated with a team. Our winged helmet and the Yankee pinstripes are the two that come to mind for me.

I like PSU's uniforms. I tend to like realy simple looks, and it gets no more simple than the all white or all blue PSU outfits. Also, I like the fact that they have no names on the back (I wish we would do that).
I also like the classic looks. My favorite unis in sports are ours, PSU's, the Yankee pinstripes, and the Red Wings. All old school.
New unis try to do to much. Just look at Buffalo Bills, Oregon Ducks, and Tennesee Titans. They look like something out of Any Given Sunday.
