The PAL (UK) version of 'The Epic: 1901 - 1959' contains all deleted scenes from the first two films, except for one scene that I heard JGeoff mention, where in GF2, Michael asks Santino, Jr how his football is coming along... Anyone else heard of this?
It also contains extra subtitles E.g. At the dinner scene in GF2, when mama whispers something to Tom etc...
All the violence and nudity is in tact, but two 'swear' words spoken by Pentagelli to Fredo in GF2 are changed E.g. "...Fredo! You son of a bitch/gun! You look great!..."
Hmmm...

don jas.....
i understand the desire to want to view the films chronologically, but i would't consider that the "intended" order. many of us prefer the original flashback style as the the films were released

It is my belief that we as true Godfather aficionados have been denied the full Godfather experience. The deprivation of the chronological insertion of all of the extant footage is a TRAVESTY, and I say the only solution is direct action! The time is NOW! So grab your lupara and come down from the hills. I say we storm American Zoetrope and take FFC hostage. No one will be harmed, everyone will be set free except FFC and the film editor. I myself Don Rico will "supervise" as FFC comences the remix. The agonizing, laborious toiling. Finally, after weeks we shall emerge in triumph with the 'Final Cut': a masterpiece. " The Godfather : The Complete Epic Saga Trilogy Novel for Television 1891-2001 " 14 & 1/2 hours long. Just non-stop Godfather blissfulness. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.thegodfathertrilogy.net/emoticons/wink.gif)

The US TV version of the Saga contains the bit of dialog when Michael, after dismissing Gardner Shaw, asks Santino how he's doing. The big, hulking guy whom he addresses as "Santino" has got to be more than 13 years old. There's another bit of bowdlerized dialog in the TV version besides "son of a bitch/son of a gun": When Frankie and Michael are arguing about the Rosato Bros. (great scene!!), Frankie in the TV version says, "Clemenza promised them ushgatz, instead of ugatz. As if that made a difference! Another one: in the TV version, Sen. Geary says he despises Michael "the phony way you pose yourself...you and your whole phony family." Yeah, right, Senator, not nice to use the f-word on TV.

It never ceases to amaze me how upset some people get over the use of a few 'naughty' words. It always makes me angry when people will quite happily watch a really violent film full of blood and death, and then get upset as soon as someone swears. I once watched GFIII with my friend and his dad. We got upto the bit where the two assasins come to try and kill Vincent. My friend's dad watched quietly as Vinnie blew both guys away but then got all upset about Grace's use of the F word. I was thinking 'But you just watched him blow that guys head off you moron!' And for anyone who's going to say "ah well you have avoided using swearing in this post" unfortunately i'm sending this from work and i'm not allowed to use those words. Ridiculous! Va' fan cul'
What has the universe got to do with it? You're here in Brooklyn! Brooklyn is not expanding!
