There's a playoffs thread, I know... But, I just thought I'd make one specifically for the conference championship games, which sometimes are hyped up just as much as the Superbowl. Okay, maybe not -- but they're pretty damn hyped!
Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win?
AFC: Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots...
I'm keeping my bet for the Colts -- Peyton Manning is unstoppable. Eight touchdowns in his two playoff games! Unbelievable. James is doing a great job running, and the recievers [Harrison, Stokes] are doing terrific, as well. The O line gives Peyton all the time in the world, and Manning doesn't even seem to be bothered in the slightest bit with all the noise the fans make. Pats fans seem to be some of the most dedicated, and I don't think he'll be too effected by it. A strategy of his is no huddle, and he takes all the time in the world out on the line/in the play to form something together... And he pulls it off every time. Of course, though, they're playing at Gillette Stadium... And the cold seems to be the Pats' friend. They work great in the cold, even in snow storms! But, I think Manning is ten times better than Brady and the Colts as a whole are better than the Pats. Maybe not on defense, which will be a major problem, but Manning is a master at dissecting defenses. Broncos beat the Colts first, and see what happened the second time? Colts did way better this week than the Pats. Pats almost lost their game -- the Colts were in control the whole time. I'm sticking with the Colts, and also cheering for them!
NFC: Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles...
It took a bit for McNabb to come back in the Packers game, and a helluva long time. The Eagles struggled in their game with the Packers pretty much the whole time, and the main reason they won was Favre's fuck up in OT. But, again, the Panthers also allowed the Rams to make a near come-back and ice them over and win. Two OT games and two teams who've struggled. Foster, though, who is a second string RB [if I'm not mistaken] did GREAT against the Rams... And he's not even a starter. This game isn't as big as the Colts/Pats game, but I'm still picking the Eagles. I think McNabb can drive them to win, even if he is over-rated, simply because I think he can do better than Delhomme, both under the pressure of winning/going to the Superbowl and the pressure of the D. Nobody aside from Michael Vick maybe can outscramble McNabb.
What about you's?

I remember him setting Peyton as his avatar when the Colts made that HUGE comeback against the Buccs on Monday Night Football. RagingBull2003 -- I don't think it's really because McNabb is "great." McNabb is good, I won't take that away from him, and he's an awesome scrambler who can get out of almost anything the D sends at him in the backfield. And he works better under pressure than Delhomme [Panthers], but he's pretty over-rated, you gotta admit. He's not as great as everyone says. But I do agree that the Eagles are overall better than the Panthers.

Yeah, I was excited to see Ruben singing the national anthem. He did a hella fuckin' good job, too! I'm rooting for the Eagles as well... And I hope they tear the Pats to pieces in the Superbowl.

"I may need a little Leon time". Ok, a little off topic, but who else loves those commercials with Leon, the arrogant football player? I think they're better then most Super Bowl commercials. "The crowd booing me hurt my feelings. I may need a little Leon time". "How about some herbal tea"? "There's no I in team". "Yeah, well there ain't no we either"
