He's the only guy at ESPN to me that probably understood what the hell was coming out of his mouth. He wasn't a former jock who can't talk worth a spit, nor some hack that is more known for being a jackass than for his analysis, but Gammons knows his stuff. Hope he recovers.

He definately is one of those great reporters who know their stuff and love the game. Some are pushing for him to become MLB Commissioner. I listen to Mike and Mike every morning and they said some nice things about him. They say it looks like all indications are he should come out of it.

They reported last night that his prognosis sounds promising. I was never a big fan of his b/c of his unapologetic love for Boston. However, his knowledge of the game and his ability to get stories that no one else has is unmatched.
