Well, there
are other teams out there besides the Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox.
Oh yeah....and the Toronto Blue Jays.
In any case, welcome jamarko. It's always nice to have another baseball fan around.
Seems as though most of the hardcore baseball fans here are from the east, so I don't know how many people are gonna care about the Mariners unless they make it to the playoffs, but I personally follow all of the teams, and the Mariners are certainly at least decent.
They're in a fairly evenly matched division, I think, so no one can say that they don't have a shot.
If Beltre and Sexson start hitting some homers, they can score runs, and I love Ichiro and Lopez.
Now if Hernandez comes around and becomes the dominant #1 starter that he apparently has the potential to be, they're in pretty good shape because the rest of their rotation is fairly solid, and with Oakland's Harden out, I don't think anyone else in the division has an overall starting five as good as Felix, Moyer, Meche, Washburn, and Piniero.
Let's see how they do when they have to stop beating up on the easy NL teams they've been playing.
