I think you mean of all three films (or just GF2), because you can probably also adjust the DVD to the chapter order from the novel.

As far as I know, One and Three are chronological.

The young Vito scenes from GF2 are these (if I'm correct):

disc 1: 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16
and disc 2: 1, 2, 7

then comes disc 2, scene 13, the surprise party of 1941.
Godfather 1 starts in 1945 and ends in the mid-fifties. The other Two scenes are late fifties and Three is 1979/1980.

I think this is the right order.

sorry, made a tiny mistake:

Godfather Part II, disc 1, scene 10, is not a young-Vito scene, so leave this one out.

I've just ordered the DVDs online and am hankering to view them and reading this above post has confused me...doesn't the story in the DVD's come in chronological order?

An ex-boyfriend once had a copy of the complete triology on tape in chronological order and I was under the impression that the dvds would too...

No, the DVD's don't come in chronological order, as much as we all like to. But personally, I like it better when it's not in order. I still can't love the movies any less.

I won't love the triology any less either, but it would have been a bonus....(like for Dutch people, an Albert Heijn bonus)

for the list I made I used the DVD-covers, and there's no scene index of all deleted scenes on the bonus cover, but let me come back to this, and I will figure it out.

No it's totally not practical but I've started trying to do it. It's a whole task but I've done GF2 and a part of GF1. Here it is.

Then If you want to see it in chronological order you have to watch it this way:

GF 2 (Disc 1): 1,2 (After 5 min and 15 seconds you must watch extra scene 1), 3, 8, 9 (47 min 17 seconds extra scene 2 followed directly by scene 3, (Next time I write this as 47:17 S2)), 15 (1:46:06 S4 followed by S5)
GF 2 (Disc 2): 2(10:00 S6 followed by S7 and 8) and scene 9 after 38:18.

After that you watch GF 2 Disc 1: 4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14, (Disc 2) 3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12,13,14

GF 1(partly): 1,2,3(25:29 S10)(then when 3 ends you must look S11),4(30:49 S12 followed by S13),5 (after 5 you must look S14),6 (43:54 S15 followed by S16),7(50:48 S17)(53:09 S18)(54:02 S19).
