In the GF1 DVD commentary, FFC says Don Vito's office scenes were filmed in a NY set near Harlem. I think he says the Upper West Side, which in the 70s was far from the nice area it is today. It was probably a cheap place to film, given their budget contraints. But where exactly?

In his authoritative book, "The Godfather Legacy," Harlan Lebo says: "...the Genco Olive Oil Company offices were fitted into an upstairs floor of an old building in Little Italy."

Thanks turnbull, but I meant the home office, which probably includes the entire interior of the Corleone home. Yeah, the commentary did mention that the Genco office was filmed in Little Italy.

Lebo says the interiors of the Corleone house were shot at Filmways Studios in NYC. Didn't say if it's in or near Harlem.

I did some browsing around regarding the interior filming, ane Geoff's site says Filmways Studio was in the Bronx, while a couple other sites say it was in East Harlem.
