Welcome, Gina--hope to see many thoughtful posts from you! There are at least four versions available in the US. They are: 1) the theatrical releases pf the individual movies on VHS; "The Godfather Saga," a three-VHS collection that's GF and GFII spliced together in chronological order, with about 20 of the 45 minutes of deleted scenes included where they belong; 3) "The Godfather Saga" for TV, shown frequently on TV, that includes the chronological GF and II and all the deleted scenes in logical sequence; and 4) the DVD set, which has the three theatrical release versions of the films and an extras disc that contains all the deleted scenes and lots of other stuff (family trees, biographies, commentaries, "making-of", etc). In my opinion, the most enjoyable version to watch is #3, but a real GF Trilogy fan must have the DVD set for all the extra stuff it contains on that extra disc--not just the deleted scenes. I emphasized US versions because you might have different choices in Canada. Some of our overseas paisani on these boards have written about versions that we haven't seen in America.

I should have said, "all the deleted scenes that Paramount has chosen to release thus far." I would give my left coglione to see that Michael-kills-Fabrizzio scene--or any others that were actually filmed and never released in any version.

Versions of GF available in Canada
I have the GF Saga Taped (Don't we all!!) and received "The GF Collection" for Xmas. That's I, II, and III. I really like it. It was bought through Amazon.ca, so I'm not sure if it's available to all you "associates" south of the border.

Ciao, Are you Italian/Sicilian? Just to let you know Bonjourno is spelled Buongiorno in Italian. Just thought I would let you know. As a Sicilian I thought you would want to know this. Avere un giorno buono Sinceramente, Don Ferro
And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.
