I recieved the dvd box set for Valentines day (very good gift huh? ) I wanted to know why (or correct if there is) not an option to turn the audio of the movie to Italian? That is one movie I thought for sure would have the option but doesn't seem to.

They only dub movies into large nations that buy large quanities of those movies or in that particular DVD region. Though the movie is about Sicilian/Italians, they are not a major DVD purchising country. Such as the French subtitles, they are for France(obviously), but also Canada, which has a very large French speaking population.
The Don Ferro
And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.

Maybe if you got a different region coding. Like from Europe they might have it. Also "the Godfather" in Italian is "Il Padrino". =)

Like it has already been said, there is an italian version, called (like the original book) "Il padrino". Unfortunately, they dubbed even the sicilian dialogues into regular italian with just a few sicilian expressions here and there, as no "northern" italian would have understood anything (that's why northern italians call sicilians "africans"...! ). Besides that, it's a good dubbed version, IMHO. The dubbed voices match the originals very well.
