I'm probably one of the few who thinks Scorsese is superior to Coppola, Spielberg, and without a doubt Lucas. I'm glad The Departed got the better awards and this is one of the better awards I've seen. Between Scorsese and Morricone, it's the year of the guineas for the awards.

Well, I left this thread because of some people that were being jerks. Not Don Cardi, he was cool. I didn't care for Flags of Our Fathers, but so what? its just movies. I was conducting a live blog, 7 hours straight(damn!) for AndersonVision. Check it out where I continued after I boycotted this thread of my own creation. http://www.andersonvision.com/PostNuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=149I know that me, Pizzaboy, Mignon, DonAndrew, and great Irishman are just so damn pleased that Scorsese has finally won. Decades of fustration off his shoulders now...and man, you watch his speech? He almost lost his shit, real emotional and such. Being with his fellow "Brats" of the 1970s added wood to the fire. I liked that he applauded his fans hoping for years that he wins. What a nice touch. I don't know if THE DEPARTED deserved Best Picture at all, but I don't care honestly. Except I did win 20 bucks on my Best Picture bet. However, what I cared about, was Scorsese winning...and it happened. Good night folks!

I'm probably one of the few who thinks Scorsese is superior to Coppola, Spielberg, and without a doubt Lucas.
Martin's films have his distinctive touch: it's not crime drama. It's filled with confident film making, suspense, tension, a love for cinema. The man is a god of cinema and tonight was his night for one of his best films.
