McFarlane Toys is pleased to announce a licensing agreement with Paramount Licensing, Inc., and plans to create collectibles based on the 1972 Academy-Award-winning masterpiece, The Godfather.

Fans of the epic saga of an organized crime dynasty will have an entirely new medium with which to pay tribute to this classic film, as McFarlane releases a six-inch scale action figure and a 3-D re-creation of the film's iconic one-sheet theatrical release poster.

Both products are scheduled to reach store shelves in fall, 2007.

I'd like a Godfather pop-up book. I can't find my box of 64 Crayolas with the crayon sharpener.

Well, I'm already curious to see how close McFarlane comes with their six-inch figures, as far as the character resemblances. Sure hope they're better than those bobble-head figures. If it wasn't for the fact that the photo was posted in a Godfather thread, I'd have no idea who they were supposed to be.

Hmmm...first thing McFarlane should think about is making Sonny Corleone somewhat larger than six inches!

And since my mind is rapidly descending into the gutter, have you seen those Geico commercials with Talia Shire and the caveman? Sorta reminds me of Dr. Melfi. Of course, they should really have the gecko in therapy. I can just imagine what she'd be treating him for:

Indeed. I've been a fan of McFarlane's action figures for a long time. I'll definitely be picking these up when they're released.

I must admit that for the most part McFarlane usually does a great job on capturing the likenesses of the real life people that he's re-creating for his figures, especially his sports figures. Although in my opinion he did a poor job with the Scarface figures.

I believe Mezco Toys manufactured the Scarface toys, not McFarlane. Although I could be wrong.

That's a really nice job. A lot of times, figures look nothing like the originals, but not this time. That's awesome work.
