Firstly, have you ever seen anything so weird as this? Secondly, I'm trying to upload images on Facebook, but whenever I click to go to the screen where Java should run in order for me to upload photos, all of my Mozilla windows just close without warning. And I'm getting extremely frustrated by it. Any help appreciated.

You should come on night out in Nottingham.. I'm a little slow. Can you explain this to me? And capo, I have 2 words for you : Windows Update. You go there, it will check your system and tell you what needs to be installed / updated.

The Java thing is an Active X tool, whatever that means. One of the big security advantages of Firefox is that it does not allow Active X protocols to run, which is why you can't do it. However, just in case, go into your Firefox settings (Tools > Options > Content) and check the little boxes next to "Enable Java" and "Enable Javascript." Try this first, see if it helps. Newer versions of IE (i.e., 7) have Active X disabled by default, if I'm not mistaken. You'll have to use IE if the Firefox solution doesn't cut it. Go to Tools > Internet Options > click on the 'Security' tab > custom level > check the radial buttons to enable Active X controls. If you need any more help, or this doesn't work, just let me know.

It's worked in the past, though, on Firefox, on anything. And how is the window just closing automatically when I click on the download button on Java's website? On IE, I just clicked Tools > Sun Java Console, and it closed again.

I did a System Restore, and it seems to be working. Cache error (the number of attributes in the cache doesn't match those in the version, or something like that), but it's working all the same. Fanx. Now, back onto that cow...
