I believe the scene in the beginning of GFII when Mikes niece asks for Mikes blessing for her upcoming marriage plan was a deleted scene. While viewing it on Bravo, I thought it was, like many other deleted scenes, such as the Genco hospital deleted scene in GFI, a very important scene, as it showed a part of Mikes character and values. Also amusing was the similiarity to GFI when Vito was receiving Luca and the small kids came running in, and in GFII Fredo came running in and had to be escorted out.

I'm with you on this one. That is one of my favorite scenes, period.

I've never seen it.Speaking of deleted scenes, is there any sites where i can view them.I own the trilogy but it's the basic box set.

The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters. Cus D'Amato

I missed the beging tonight on Bravo.
Was that scene where they are going to see Genco in the hospital and
Don Corleone smirks after a conversation with Michael before they get in the car?

The next showing of The Godfather Saga is scheduled for Friday, July 27 at 5:00pm Eastern time on Bravo.

I thought the whole Francesca scene was a great parallel to Connie's wedding request. Mike agreeing to let the right marriage take place and the wrong marriage not - without it, Michael just seemed too cold. Then again, that was the point of the movie....

Agreed, I was amused at the contrast of that scene to the scene with his sister and Merle, where Mike was anything cordial and just ignored Merle altogether.

All of the deleted scenes were great, and the Francesca scene was one of the best.
BTW, that scene when shown on TV includes five or so additional seconds right at the end that aren't included in the scene that's on the DVD "extras" disc. After Michael says to Tom, "Make sure her dowry's big..." he turns to a hulking young man in a plaid jacket, who is Sonny's son, and says, "How's the football, Santino?" "Fine, Uncle Michael," he replies.

That scene did humanize Michael a bit more in GF II. Aside from Neri moving Klingmann out, I wish all the deleted scenes were in the original.
