Tonight on my local evening news, it was reported that Luciano Pavarotti's health has seriously deteriorated over the last couple of weeks.
The great tenor, 71, has been battling pancreatic cancer.

"No. Saints and poets, maybe... they do some."

I'm so sorry to hear that. I knew he was ill but didn't know he had cancer. Not to minimize any other cancer, but I have heard that pancreatic cancer can be one of the most painful. I believe that's what Michaeal Landon died from and remember a commentator and/or doctor mentioning how much pain was involved.. I wish Pavorotti the best. TIS

Sadly, it may now just be a matter of time. I was watching the news tonight, and it was reported that Pavarotti was "barely hanging on" at his home. He was "slipping in and out of consciousness", and was also experiencing kidney problems in addition to the effects of the cancer. His condition was described as "grave". Signor V.
