I never heard of it. It seems like it would get some promo here in the U.S. Tintin was a Belgian adventure comic strip, about a kid reporter and his dog, with as much popularity and recognitiion in Europe as Superman or Batman or Spider-Man. Practically unknown in America outside of nerd nation. I think the Euro-residents around here can summarize it much better than I can. Fascinating enough, several European critics back in the day compared RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK w/ Tintin. That was one of the books we had to use in French class.

Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die. As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Martin Scorsese may do a movie on the Liz Taylor/Richard Burton affair. What do you think? Gosh, anyone my age group will surely remember these two were on the cover of every single movie magazine. Cleopatra (although technically a flop if I'm not mistaken)became popular as the beginning of the affair for these two. TIS http://www.hitfix.com/articles/martin-sc...d-burton-affair

LOVE her! She's a wonderful actress, and has the unique ability to perform both comedy and drama equally well. Although I am a Gleek, I admired her for years on Criminal Minds. She played Reid's schizophrenic mom, and she was fantastic. Ohhhhhhh! That's where I saw her. I don't watch Glee but do watch Criminal Minds pretty regularly. I thought she looked familiar. TIS

She played Reid's schizophrenic mom, and she was fantastic. She deserved an Emmy for her role on "Criminal Minds." She was that good. She was also hysterical as Steve Carell's boss in "The 40 Year Old Virgin."

Yeah I'm gonna agree with that. Jane Lynch is a very good actress and always delivers. I remember her way back on The King Of Queens, but my favorite was her role in The 40 Year Old Virgin. "Are you familiar with the term f--- buddy?". I loved it . Then she starts singing .

You know, Dreamworks/Paramount/whatever once sold "Transformers" the same way they're selling "Super 8" now: as a Steven Spielberg joint with some other, lesser guy directing. Spielberg's name is added to bring heft, gravitas and (of course) box office to enterprises that aren't yet proven; note that Spielberg's name isn't so prominent in the "Transformers" trailers anymore. The franchise no longer requires him. That doesn't mean he's not still involved, though, and, according to Michael Bay (who directed "Transformers" movies), the reason Megan Fox was fired from "Transformers 2" was not her big mouth (more on that later), but in fact Spielberg himself. According to a new Michael Bay oral history in GQ, Bay says Fox was booted by the direct order of Sir Spielbergo (who helped produce the movie). "She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, 'Fire her right now.'" Spielberg lays down the law

Yesterday (June 22) I was listening to WFAN, Mike Francesa, (sport talk radio) transmitting from the Hartford Open where he was covering the charity golf event before the PGA event. He was talking to Joe Pesci about various golf charities and he asked Joe what was coming up in his film life. He, DeNiro and Pacino were going to be in a Scorcese film, I believe the title is "The Irishman", based on a book, the title I'm not sure....something like "Passing a Painted House"...anyway, about the assasination of Jimmy Hoffa. DeNiro plays the Irishman, Pacino is Hoffa and Pesci is Russell Bufalino, the mobster who puts out the hit. Sounds cool, but aren't these guys getting a little old?
Side note: Russell Bufalino is from Northeast PA, coal mines and things like that and a well-respected crime boss. One theory purports that Bufalino was instrumental in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. My wife's uncle was the mayor of Exeter, PA a town within Bufalino's control. In the area there is a prominent law firm name Bufalino, but I'm not sure of the connection. The uncle was "friendly" with the Bufalino law firm. When my daughter was applying to colleges, Villanova was on the top of the list. Uncle said give him the word and the Bufalino's would get her in. Thank God she made it on her own.

Inception is one movie I do not plan on seeing again. I stormed out of that theater thinking about how I could get my money back. WHAT??!??!! "Stormed out" of a theater in Iceland?? Isn't it warmer in there? lol I never even heard about it until my friend mentioned it; he went with his son at midnight, and his son loved it! I was intrigued, so I DVR'd it from Cinemax -- and I loved it, too! TIS, don't listen to this clown if you like thrillers or complicated timeline films -- I thought it was fantastic (including some of the effects)! I rarely give 4/5 stars on Netflix, but this one got 4 from me...
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Hey Geoff! I saw previews of it at the theater just before it was released and it really looked good to me. I DO plan to watch it although with all the special effects, I'm wondering it it would have been one of those movies to see on the big screen. Happy 4th weekend to you!! TIS

I think she's fully capable of making that decision herself, but I'm sure she's grateful for your advice. The main problem I had with Inception was the extremely unrealistic storyline. I'm not someone who's into fantasies or fairy tales. I was when I was ten, but thankfully I grew out of it. As far as thrillers go or "complicated" timeline films, I've got no problem with them - if they are well made that is. I thought Mulholland Dr. was brilliant and I enjoyed Memento as well. And regarding the temperature in Iceland. Well, maybe you should come visit me, Geoff. I'd be more than happy to show you around. Iceland is not as bad as you think.
