I searched, and there wasn't an official Grand Theft Auto 3 topic. So, I decided to create one. My first GTA game I played was Liberty City Stories. After I was done that, I wanted to know what happens after. So, I played GTA 3, beat it, and really liked it! Even though it doesn't have that well graphics, it has a great storyline. It's cool, because I was expecting Claude Speed to stay in the mafia, but he was betrayed! I thought that was really cool. The ending mission was hard, man! What did you guys think of this game?

GTA3 was a turning point in videogames. A completely open world where you could pretty much do whatever you wanted. Hell...you didn't have to play the missions if you didn't want to. You could make a career as a Taxi Driver or a Paramedic. Or you could go completely psycho and spend all your time killing people.

The freedom that GTA3 gave players was COMPLETELY unheard of before it's released. Barring a few RPGs, games were almost exclusively linear affair. There was very little room for choices...very little room for alternate paths. You just followed the path that the game lays out for you.

With GTA3, you could undertake missions ANY WAY you saw fit. These aspects were only improved in it's sequels.

Out of all the GTA games so far, SAN ANDREAS has been the most ambitious, and the best, IMO.

Continue playing the franchise, xName. You definitely won't be disappointed.

GTA 3 is my favorite over San Andreas because of the mafia aspect and I like the city better than the beach of Miami or the slums of LA. Plus it was the original...

I don't think I've ever finished the game. San Andreas I haven't even unlocked all the places in the city. Once I unlock all the places there isn't much more reason for me to keep doing missions unless I am bored.

I don't have enough time to finish the missions. What little time I do get to play xbox I spend on NFL2K5 because I enjoy it more.

Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

GTA3 was a great game, i also found the last mission hard. I cant wait for GTA4 hopefully it has a mafia story in it as that was one of the best aspects of GTA3, San andreas and vice city.

Still the best GTA game.

They were cool, but nothing compares to GTA3.

Actually I have to agree, the third was the best, but the first two were fun because the bullets looked like little Pac Man pellets.

I actually didn't like San Andreas. Too ghetto.

I agree that san andreas was too ghetto but IMO it was the best Grand theft auto hands down. The world Rockster created was a great achievement for games. It was huge and there were so many things you could do. Great fun. Best thing was jumping out of the plane with the parachute and dogding the cops. Easily the best GTA imo.
