25°F (-4°C) with a dusting of snow, and somehow the roads are treacherous and all backed up with traffic. Was going to my folks but turned around after a few blocks.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Geoff.... it's looking more likely for a nice sized snow on Sunday (for the Jersey shore and Long Island)....

We had a few inches the other day.... it packed down and froze. Thank God the sun got rid of most of it.

We got about 2 inches. I don't see it melting to cold.

Finally back up in the 30s, but maybe some snow on Sunday, especially out on the Island, by SC.

Yesterday I had to make a 250 miles road trip to Altoona, PA for business. I rode with a coworker. We left Williamstown, NJ at 4:15am for a 10am meeting. Made it to Altoona in 4+hours, had breakfast, went to the meeting, left Altoona at 12:30 under a light flurry. The snow was sticking on the road, but driving was ok for the first 80 miles. About 40 miles west of Philadelphia we hit horrendous road conditions; many accidents; roads jammed with cars. We never went faster than 20 mph and that was short bursts. We got back to Williamstown at 8:30 pm - 8 hours. Worst weather related traffic I have EVER been in. The one inch of snow became ice and caught everyone by surprise.

Exactly, MC... I have no problem driving in snow, and quite enjoy it. But the black ice deal is a nightmare and no fun at all! That drive you took sounds horrendous!

I'd say that too, Yogi.

How much snow do you have? I just see the news spots and I see where some people are getting feet of snow?

Beth, we aren't as bad as we were a couple of weeks ago, when we did have feet of snow. Just 3-4 inches today but it is so cold. at 9 o clock this morning it was still -7 C and it is -4 now at 2pm eek

The south of England are getting it bad this time round, Heathrow airport particularly where holiday flight chaos is causing all sorts of problems!

I have a co-worker who's British and her mom is still in England. She's not sure if she'll be able to come over.

If her flight involves Heathrow she may be kaput cos they are struggling...although they are talking about bringing the Army in. I don't see what good invading the airport is going to do though? tongue

The weather has pretty nice here in Philadelphia, temps in the high 30's to low 40's. No huge snowstorms like last year so far, thank God!

Hey GL, I'm a South Jersey boy (via New York). Amen to that weather. I'll bear the cold to escape the snow. Last winter at this time we a foot of snow on the ground. It's been a little colder than usual, but I'll take it.

Weather up here in the High Desert is really wacky:

Snow started falling yesterday morning when the temp was 39.7. By 11:30, when temp dropped to 37.2, it started accumulating on the roads. By 1 p.m., same temp, it was melting on blacktop, and by 5 p.m., it was completely gone on blacktop. But at 8 p.m., with temp at 36.5, it started accumulating big-time. Woke up this morning to a foot of snow, and it’s still falling. Temp will drop to 15 tonite, meaning plenty of ice. Since we’re on the east side of our street, we’ll probably have it for month.

And people back East think all of Arizona is 117 degrees all the time...

Saturday I went out for a jog in shorts. 51 degrees and the 15 inches of snow is almost a memory. My neighbor went to Georgia just before the big storm. He's coming back today and there is not a spec of snow in his driveway mad I had to fork over $140 bucks last week to plow my driveway, tip the guy who towed my car out of a drift and tip the guys who shoveled my daughters driveway.
