I've been trying to settle an argument for some time-does anyone know where Clemenza's home was located? It looks Queens(Bayside, Maspeth, Flushing?)I've been trying to find it on the net-

I'd bet it was the Midwood section of Brooklyn, but some parts of the Bronx could be considered as well.

Welcome to the boards, Seamac.

Since Clemenza was the Bronx capo, wouldn't his home have been there?

You would think, but for whatever reason I always though maybe he lived on the edge of the Bronx in Pelham.

I think the question was about where the filming location of the house was.

The Midwood section of Brooklyn has houses of a similar style and closeness (narrow driveways with the garage just off to the right side of the back of the house).

If I had to wager on where it was filmed, I would have to go with SC and say Brooklyn. Either the Gravesend section or the Midwood section. Both have a very similar layout of homes.

It looks as though it could have been Avenue T or Avenue S in the lower East streets.

Looks like Midwood to me. When I worked in the funeral business out there, I was at many of those houses for "removals," and they're all strikingly familiar.

Now we have to look this up.

I'm betting East 22nd Street around Avenue K. The houses there were slightly larger than the others in Midwood, and judging from the movie, Clemenza's was one of the larger ones.

Yes, you're right. Those houses were a bit bigger and in that scene they appear to be bigger than the ones over on the lower East streets. But I am 99% sure that it is Brooklyn.

I'm mean, we're not liars, despite of what this undertaker says. ;\)

Here's a picture of the house. I was hoping I'd be able to read the address number (above the door) but I can't:

Edit: Those cement flower planters and tiled roofs are all over Midwood.

A few weeks ago, my brother and I discussed it-he swore up and down it was Woodside(THE Irish neightborhood in Queens)-but no self-respecting capo would live right in the middle of Captain McCloskey's cousins, would he?
(Please don't anyone take offense, I'm second-gen Irish)

Gentlemen:

I've found fat Clemenza's house -- check out 1999 East 5th Street in Brooklyn. For confirmation, look at baptism scene, when Clemenza is going to his car with the box. Note the 3 front windows. Compare, and salut!

Well, yeah, I just posted a link to the address -- 40 minutes before you discovered it -- in another thread. wink

Cool site.

Turns out the location for Clemenza's house was just a few blocks away from real Mob boss, Carlo Gambino's home.

Nice find. I believe that is in the heart of where you would find some of the capos and higher up members of the Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, and Lucchese crime families had lived or lives at one time or another.
