Interesting timing for this thread svsg.

I haven't mentioned it before now because I didn't want to push my problems on everyone else, but my girlfriend was in the hospital for 5 days because of non-stop vomiting. While she was there they did some tests and ended up finding blood on her brain and in her spine. They discovered she has high blood pressure as well. It turns out she burst blood vessels while vomiting and because of her high blood pressure it has really affected her negatively. She's lucky she didn't have a stroke.

She is home now but still sick and trying to recover. It's been one of the most stressful weeks of my life taking care of the kids and worrying about her health. No joke, my sideburns have a lot more gray hair. I always thought that was a myth. Luckily I have a site like this where I can go and get lost and distracted.

While she is better now, she is still having problems including occasional numbness in her arms and legs so she is scared as am I. We could use your prayers. If you're not religious, then your kind thought would be nice. Thanks.

Blibble,

Thats some story.

On the bright side, you (apparently) know what the cause of her problems is and thats the first step to beating them. She has youth on her side and with a good diet and care there's no reason why she shouldn't make a full recovery.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Blib,

I can relate to what you are going through. It's good that she is getting the care she needs. It sure is a "wake-up" call isn't it? frown You will be more help than you realize. Just being there will be a comfort to her. I will pray for her recovery and wish your family the best. Please keep us updated ok?

send prayers over this way for rain, there are fires ravaging Palm Bay, and two schools near mine are on fire

I didn't update sooner because I didn't want to keep you all as worried and scared as I was myself with each new possible discovery the doctors made. Basically I had to take her back to the hospital because her whole left side of her body went numb. It turns out she did have a minor stroke triggered by her vomiting at the beginning of all this.

She's home now and doing much better, still weak and "tingly" on her left side, but getting better. It really is an eye-opener when someone as young as she is, only 35, has a stroke. Time to start living healthier...

Thanks to all of you and your thoughts and prayers.

Bibble, that's awful. I'm glad though that she is home and recovering. God, I know exactly how you feel. It is an "eyeopener" that's for sure.

I thought my brother was young for a stroke at 51, but 35? All I can say is it IS a long process (or at least from what I've learned)as far as the recovery goes.

My prayers continute to be with your GF and you and your family. Take one day at a time as she gets better.

Thanks for the update.

We just got word tonight that one of the Col's cousins in KY found out that he has lung cancer. He has been working in the mines for years. He's been spitting up blood for sometime now. The Doc said he has black lung. But today the douche bag doc sent him a letter instead of telling him in person that the black lung has been masking the cancer.

Stacy is only in his late 30's. He has 3 boys and is getting married in August.

I will keep the Col's cousin in my prayers.

That is truly horrible and disgusting of the doctor Mig. How heartless. I feel for them.

They had a story on my local news about a 5 year old girl who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at birth. She was in remission, but a few months ago it came back. They were having a fund raiser for her, and the news reported the doctor's only gave her a few more months. She died a few days ago. I cried like a baby. I didn't know the girl, but just seeing a sweet, angelic 4 year old facing death. How do you cope?
