I wasn't sure if I was supposed to post this in the other section, but it ain't really Non Mob "Entertainment".
I just finished watching this documentary on a religious cult known as "The Children of God" or "The Family" It was a Christian group(If you can call them that)which was run by this sick F*cked up individual. Basically, he used Christian faith as a way to exploit these "followers". The documentary was made by an ex family member, who went around America and Mexico to find other ex members and ask them about their experience in this cult. It was pretty messed up. A lot of incest was encouraged between Sons and Mothers/Daughters and Fathers etc etc. It gets worse than that. There was even footage of an ex member with an assortment of knives and a gun, talking about how he was going to get revenge on his Mom. A month later he murdered his old nanny(The women who looked after the boys when they were young and slept with them too) and took his own life shortly afterwards. Throughout the doco, the guy who made it (I've forgotten his name already) attempts to try and get his Mom to talk about it, But she refuses. He even tells her about how he used to have sex with his "nannies" etc and his Mom won't believe it.
Anyways, some weird shit. I watched it because I was basically raised(till about 11) in a "born again" Christian church, which was on the borderline of being a cult, if not a cult.
Anyone else seen this?
The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters. Cus D'Amato

If the censors accepted the bribe, we wouldn't know it. And if we did know, the rating would be revised, and appropriate action would be taken on those who made the bribe and those who accepted the bribe. And I think they'd go for a bit more than $1,000. Do you have any idea how much money Hollywood figureheads make? They wipe their asses with $1,000.
Secondly, why would Universal even want to pass off a movie like that as a family film? That doesn't even make sense. Trying to advertise a film to an inappropriate market doesn't make sense, even if it is a larger demographic, because that just means less people from that demographic would be interested, and as a result you make a smaller profit.
It's like where I live; Lot's of dumb, inbred, gas-guzzling truck-driving, Jesus-loving, Gee-Dubya-Bee praising hicks. As a result, our theater does not get a lot of good movies... I mean, once Oscars are handed out, we pick up a few of the winners, because that's when rednecks tell themselves that they have to enjoy a film just because it's an award winner, but other than that, most of them would rather see Kung Fu Panda or some shit like that.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."
