I'll be leaving town soon to visit family for the holiday, so I thought I'd wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I have two pumpkin pies baking in the oven, and my mouth is watering for turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, etc.

I've got to clear the way by eating the rest of the stuffed peppers tonight.

Turkey breast in the crockpot, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, macaroni salad, noodles. Noodles made from scratch, not sure how to describe them. Chicken, noodles, not pasta...

And FOOTBALL

Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

Maybe you should! Any reason to stuff yourself with good food and watch football is a good reason to me!

If you have a drink every time Culpepper fumbles or throws an interception you should be hammered by 6:30 or 7...

My mom hasn't made Thanksgiving dinner in awhile. This year we're letting her cook the main stuff and Megan will make some side dishes. I think it's a big deal to my mom to be able to provide us with the meal. She had been severely depressed for a long time and we had to fight to get her out on her own instead of depending on me and Megan and now she seems to be thriving. It makes me happy to see that. She is someone we both know we can depend on to do whatever she can for me and Megan. I am thankful that we were able to help her turn things around and now she can really be the person she is.

I'm cooking for 12 tomorrow, a rather small group by my family's standards. I've got all the ingredients for the stuffing and will have it made, the turkey stuffed and everything in the oven by 11 tomorrow morning. My mother's baking the pumpkin pie, my MIL an apple pie, my SIL is making the sweet potatoes with the marshmallows and my other SIL is making her famous turkey-shaped cookies. We also have fresh broccoli and string beans. Sine it's my MIL's birthday tomorrow, my daughter is baking her grandmother a carrot cake. She makes a lovely cake.

We also have the usual cheeses and salami to start, and Mr. Babe will be making his turkey pate`. I rode the exercise bike for an extra couple of miles just for the heck of it. I figure I'd have to ride it to Mexico to make up for what I plan to eat.

EDIT: And Happy Thanksgiving to all!! I hope that we all have a happy and safe one!!

My job tomorrow is to eat. I have repeatedly in the past done that job quite well. I will endeavor to live up to expectations. My daughters will cook along with my wife and I will watch football and devour everything in sight. I love it.

Happy Thanksgiving.

That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

Thanks Kly, and to all my friends here on the BB I wish you the Happiest of Thanksgivings. Enjoy your day one and all.

I will be doing the cooking (with my daughters' help). We will have the usual, candied yams, mashed potatos, gravy, corn, green bean casserole, salad, strawberry/cranerry jello, rolls, etc. For dessert a ooupl pumpkin pies, Dutch Apple, Pecan. I'm making myself hungry. lol

I'll be up bright and early, spending a good part of the day preparing. Isn't it kind of sad that after all that work, about 10/15 minutes of eating, you get stuffed? lol

It's been a good day. It's great to have almost all the kids and the grandkids together with us. I can't wait to pig out again tomorrow.

We will buy for the grandkids. We don't need anything ourselves and the kids are grown. I just refuse to expend when I don't have to. I don't care how low prices are. I'm becoming stingy and I feel comfortable with it.

TIS - The outlets about a half hour from here start their sales at midnight tonight - but screw that! (Shouldn't be too crowded at 2-3AM, though, right? confused )
