This is our national sport in Australia. Most of you have probably never seen this at all. So I thought I'd upload a bit of a promo of the sport. Most of you will be like "WTF was that?" haha

Enjoy.

Makes you wonder what "Rules" there are in Aussie Rules... lol

I tell ya, with no uniform padding and full-contact, it makes the NFL look like a punch of pansies. Hell, the penalty whistle blows when you grab someone's shirt in the NFL -- there's more real contact in Baseball sometimes. whistle

Bring Aussie Rules to the USA! grin

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I think they tried to market it in the States, But it didn't take. I'm pretty sure you can watch it on cable though in the states.

It is a rough tough game.

Did you follow any particular team, Yogi?

In ESPN's early days twhen they lacked the revenue to broadcast the major American sports leagues, they would show quite a bit of Australian rules football, and it was fun to watch even though I didn;t fully understand it. I always found the officials to be amusing with their hand gestures.

I don't see it shown anywhere here for a long time. But those players are certainly tough.

Years ago the San Diego Chargers had a punter, pulled from Australian football, and unlike typical punters, he would make hard tackles downfield.

There have been a couple of players drafter to the NFL by American scouts. Due to the fact most Aussie footballers can kick the ball 70 meteres.

Saverio Rocca is the only name I can think of right now.
