Really quick answer to your question Enzo......it is not natural for the same sex to fall in love with each other.....nature intended for male and female to procreate.....two men or two ladies can not procreate. Plus, if you are religous, it is not allowed in the bible. Imagine if two men where all that was left on this earth.....could they procreate?? No way. Therefore it is not natural.....mankind would no longer exist if that was the case.

I don`t have any personal problem with people who had chosen(or not in case it naturally worked)homosexuallity, but I don`t know if being in love with relatives is the worst thing you could ever do. Despite Michael wanted a "respectable" man for Mary, I think he did not want Vincent for Mary because they are cousins. At least if I were Michael would do the same.

I have voted not. The family in the mafia is an institution very important, especially in Sicily. The sicilian Don obeys to strict rules, linked to the interests of the family and the traditions. Maybe nowadays it is a bit more acceptable, but no in 1979. Michael was not wishing moral scandals. Besides, many marriages are agreed among families to have alliances and influence, but difficultly the marriages are for love, especially, among mafiosos. Michael was right.

I voted yes, I don't have any problems with Mary and Vincent being in love. But that's just me, for I'm rather "tolerant" about the matters of love. To love someone it's not a matter of reason, or choice - it's just pure instinct, and you hardly stand a chance against it. Mary and Vincent fell in love with each other; if that was to be considered proper or improper was just a matter between him and her. End of story.^^

Voted No. I´m not that much of an GF III enthusiast anyway, but the Mary x Vincent love didn´t convince me, and not only because the incest was icky. When I watched the movie (numerous times...) I never really believed Vincent was that much into Mary. She had a crush on him all right, she practically sought him out...but he never really seemed to take THAT much interest in her. He seemed to like her, flirt with her, and my guess would be he was fascinated that she was the Don´s daughter and all. But he didn´t seem to love her, which made the whole "severe ties with your love for business"-turnout a bit anticlimactic to me. But maybe it was simply the Garcia/Coppola-vibe not workin´, I´m not sure. Best, TM P.S.: Hello, I´m new.

Welcome tomsmistress, Hope you are enjoying yourself I agree it never seemed like Vincent was in lovewith her she was kind of just his play thing so it ruined some of the moments in the movie that could have been muvh more powerful. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.gangsterbb.net/emoticons/wink.gif) Joe Batters

I voted no. It's your own blood. But I know, if you fall in love you cant do nothing about it....except just forget about it/her (hard when shes your cousin). But I never can fall in love with my cousin, i mean you also can't fall in love with your sister....For me it's the same

I'd rather see my sister marry her cousin than turning into a homosexual. Homosexuality is what's WRONG in today's world, i'd wish people would stick to cousin relationships than to fall in love with the same sex. Not to contribute an answer to the initial question, which was misleading...but the post above is a bit screwy. First of all, in the cases such as that of Mary & Vincent...cousins most certainly ARE blood. Their fathers were brothers, who were born of the same set of parents. They are blood relatives. Second, the fact that they fell in love is not what's to be agreed or disagreed with. You can't help who you fall in love with. Whether or not you ACT upon that love is what's up for discussion. Neither apparently let their biological bond get in the way (though Vincent may have tried at the beginning). Vincent's only motivation for finally giving Mary up forever was his desire to be Don Corleone. Third, if you prefer incest to homosexuality it's your decision to make. However, if your (incorrect) argument is going to be that 'cousins ain't blood', then loving someone of the same sex ain't blood either. Again...you cannot help with whom you fall in love. AppleOnYa

Well, you did admit to being dumb in that other post. Wasn't taking you seriously at first, but... So in that case, I'll assume I've sufficiently answered your question. It's no wonder Al hasn't yet proposed Apple
