With Sonny being the underboss of the Colombo family at 92 years of age, do you think he has a relationship with his son Michael now? I have "Quitting the Mob" by Michael Franzese but haven't read it in a long time and can't remember what things must be like with them, with Michael publicy re-nouncing the lifstyle. From memory Michael never ratted anyone out (I know he wrote a book) but how did he get out of the Mob like that?
How did he get a pass?

Franzese says he never ratted but technically that's not the case. He testified before Congress about the fuel tax evasion operation he had run and implicated different people. From what I read, he still talks to his father. It's old news now. At the time, I'm sure it helped him that his father was Sonny.

Yeah it was ages ago but I just had a thought about it.
I just thought it was odd he was sort of allowed to just walk away...
I guess yeah, his fathers position was a prime factor and there are plenty more soldato wanting to fill his shoes as capo.
But it just seems strange being away to walk away from the life like that with no real retribution to the Mob. I know he did 7 years etc in prison but... I don't know.
