Ah yes. You cannot escape my semiannual threads about the TZ - your only hope is to shut your eyes until you've clicked away! grin

There is a twist, however. SciFi's apparently showing some of the "new" episodes (from the 80s), and the marathon's actually a day longer!

I'm really interested in the stories for the new ones, but I'm afraid it won't have that same appeal...

Episode Descriptions

Red = New episode
Blue = Classic episode

I look forward to this thread twice a year.

I actually find some of the newer episodes very good. One I saw last year, and the concept is very chilling.

A young woman goes back in time and finds herself nanny to Hitler as a baby. eek Her mission is to kill Hitler. I won't give any more away, but can you imagine. Could you kill an infant?

Gina, I'll look at the times later. If you know the title of this and day it's on, I wouldn't mind seeing it again, creepy as it is.

Oh, that's right - you'd told me about that one!!

TIS, I did a search for the one you mentioned, within the episode lists, and it looks like this is it:
Quote:
"Cradle of Darkness" - October 2, 2002
Andrea Collins (Katherine Heigl) discovers an incredible gift-she has the power of time travel. She decides to go back in time to kill young Adolf Hitler and prevent World War II. She manages to snatch the young infant from his crib-but her plan has a flaw.
It was part of the 'second revival' in the 00s, and I don't think they're airing it in this marathon. But...this might be it on YouTube!

Gina,

That is the one that I saw. I am not sure if I saw or how many TZ's I saw that were made in 02. Was this story written by Rod Serling then or not? What about all the ones made in 02. I wouldn't mind seeing them because good chance I missed them.

Thanks for your research Gina. smile I'm sure I'll be able to see at least a few episodes this marathon.

TIS, there are only a few from the 2000 era that were written by Rod Serling - only because they're remakes of the classic episodes.

This is a good list of all the shows:

You might find it interesting to look through!

Do do do do ......

My favorite short story (sci-fi) just aired on the marathon. "The Star" about a star that went supernova and wiped out a civilization, and some of its consequences. A Jesuit priest finds a shocking answer.

Destiny and faith meet in THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

Do do do do ......

Oooh, that was a nice one! I wish they'd done this same story in the original series. And I wish my dad had stayed up late enough to see it. lol I'll just force him to watch it on tape because I'm sure he'll like it.

Tell me somebody else caught the episode that was just on?!

Don't worry, it's on YouTube, too...you've gotta watch it! grin

Button, Button
A stranger gives a down-and-out couple (Mare Winningham, Brad Davis) a box with a button on it. He states that if they press the button, they would receive a large sum of money but also that someone would die.
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4SYhiYUoqo
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm3Za-SgaqY

The characters/acting actually had me cracking up - yet the end gave me chills. Ooh, I love a good story like that!

And it's apparently being made into a film with Cameron Diaz...

Wow, that is one of maybe 3 episodes I've ever seen and it was when I was a kid. Even as I kid I thought about the dilemma of getting a lot of money and making someone die. If I remember correctly it was an ironic ending. Although that would be typical of the Twighlight Zone huh? Now I have to watch it again.

What a coincidence that you'd seen this one before!

This is exactly why I shouldn't be allowed to watch TZ when I'm up late at night. I curled up on the chair in front of the big TV and had the lights off, and when it was over, I was both giddy and terrified about the great twist. I was hoping I could figure it out ahead of time, like my dad and I love to try doing, but I completely missed it.

Oh, and 9:09 to 9:20 in the first part is quite hilarious.

I just watched the Button, Button episode. As soon as she pulled the "button unit" out of the package I instantly remembered everything and how it ended. I watched the whole thing anyway though. One thing I didn't remember was how funny, in a cheesy way, the acting was! lol

For some reason I was reminded of this Ren and Stimpy clip:

Obviously a new one, I only got to half watch "The Once & Future King" about an Elvis Impersonator going back in time to meet the King in the early 50's. I hope they replay it, I'd like to see it. DeNiro you probably would find it interesting as well. wink

I saw one last night with Richard Mulligan as the drunken Santa who ends up with an endless amount of presents that he keeps pulling out of his sack.

That was a good one TIS - a remake of the same story used for a classic episode! I'm always suspicious when it's a nice one like that because I figure they'll still throw in some crazy twist! haha

Blib, I used to watch Ren and Stimpy with my brother when I was little - what a twisted yet awesome show!! That clip is hilarious.

I saw a couple today. The one with the couple who took pictures and the camera showed the future.

And you know how we've seen all of them? This particular one I either haven't seen that much or never did or more likely just forgot, but the one about the man who keeps dreaming he's on a train to "Willowby". He got fed up with his life and continued his dream, and got off at Willowby. Ha ha ha...I loved the ending. So Rod Serling. lol

Just saw Time Enough At Last with Burgess Meredith who loves to read. Another of my favorites. smile
