BBC News Egypt mourns 'headscarf martyr'The body of a Muslim woman, killed in a German courtroom by a man convicted of insulting her religion, has been taken back to her native Egypt for burial.Marwa Sherbini, 31, was stabbed 18 times by Alex W, who is now under arrest in Dresden for suspected murder. Husband Elwi Okaz is also in a critical condition in hospital, after being injured as he tried to save his wife. Ms Sherbini had sued her killer after he called her a "terrorist" because of her headscarf. The case has attracted much attention in Egypt and the Muslim world. German prosecutors have said the 28-year-old attacker, identified only as Alex W, was driven by a deep hatred of foreigners and Muslims. 'Martyr'Medics were unable to save Ms Sherbini who was three months pregnant with her second child. Her three-year-old son was with the family in court when she was killed. Alex W and Ms Sherbini and family were in court for his appeal against a fine of 750 euros ($1,050) for insulting her in 2008, apparently because she was wearing the Muslim headscarf or Hijab. Newspapers in Egypt have expressed outrage at the case, asking how it was allowed to happen and dubbing Ms Sherbini "the martyr of the Hijab". Senior Egyptian officials and German diplomatic staff attended the funeral in Alexandria along with hundreds of mourners. Media reports say Mr Okaz was injured both by the attacker and when a policeman opened fire in the courtroom.

This shit really makes me sick!
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Well, it makes me sick in a whole different way unfortunately. While there was no news of our own people dying in the streets by basij militia, this was on top of our national broadcast about 140 times. The German ambassador in Tehran gets official complaint and there's a symbolic service for her held in the streets of Tehran by Ahmadinejad supporters. He also has called for security council to boycott Germany! At the same time There are ethnic cleansing of muslims going on in China and he doesn't even mention that, because Chinese have stood by him most of the times. But really, I wonder why there's no news of 148 deaths in China, or when Chechnya is under attack, these bastards wouldn't breathe a word. I know this death is unjust and tragic, but it is unfortunate how it has become a scapegoat for Islamic fascists.

The Chinese oppression of the Uihgurs is getting some coveraqge here in the U.S., but not much. Not much the U.S. can do about China anymore, they own us. There has been some coverage of the Chechnya fighting, but aagain not much interest.
Here, to get headlines you have to be a pedophile pop star who dies of a presecription drug overdose.

DT, Chinese own everybody! But also they constantly along with Russia have vetoed all strategic measures of security council against Iran, for their own profit. That's why Iran wouldn't even mention such despicable acts of Chinese government.

I am amazed that a person can stab another person 18 times in a court of law. In any court room I've been in he would not have been able to get near the unfortunate woman, let alone stab her 18 times. What was security doing? I can't help but think it was more than the assailant who wanted to harm this woman. What makes it more dramatic is that security has managed to shoot the husband while he was trying to come to the rescue of his wife.
