These are absolutely amazing. They speak for themselves...

Nostra,

These are amazing! I can only speak for myself and I never realized until now, but I guess I never invision history in color, as I'd never had anything to base it on! very neat

Mick,
I bought this book several years ago after seeing it reviewed in the NYTimes book review section. It is absolutely brilliant. In addition to superb photographic art, there's a certain almost pastel quality and clarity to early Kodachromes that adds to the artistry. A MUST !

Wow. Thanks Mick. Great find. The stark beauty of these photos is inspiring. The color, light and composition are just magnificent. The subject matter speaks of a much simpler time. Truly thought-provoking.

Simpler only in nostalgic retrospect.

You can't help but stare and look at the details of each picture. Makes you reflect on what life was like way back then. Great pics Mick. wink

Oh my goodness. These photos, of the Russian Empire 1909-12 & 1915, are absolutely incredible too...

Capo, you find some interesting pics online that I wouldn't run into normally. So please, if it's not too much, keep posting on this thread everytime you find something great. Thanx in advance.
