In Part I, when Michael is at the hospital and realizes there's no one there guarding Vito, one hears a man singing "Tonight" over and over again (it sounds like "Too-nite, Too-nite, Too-nite"). It appears to be coming from a radio there. What is this? Could it be that it's not a radio but a record player, and the player is broken?
Let me tell ya somethin my kraut mick friend!

Could it be that it's not a radio but a record player, and the player is broken? I always thought the record was just "skipping," from either a scratch or a bad needle. Not that anyone younger than 40 will remember such things .

Could it be that it's not a radio but a record player, and the player is broken? Bingo!! It's the perfect illustration of how nobody was around to attend to Vito.
