Well, Albert needs to understand that it's okay to disown your father if his name is Roy DeMeo or Adolf Hitler.

If I was Albert I would lay flowers on his grave.
By all accounts, DeMeo was a good father and to be fair to Albert he will always see Roy as has Dad before he see's him as a mob killer.

3. You will not go to hell if you disown your own father. Regardless if he was the best or worst father in the world.

The bible is nothing more than a book of prophets who put words onto paper. The bible is a "manuscript" or a "guideline" for Christians and how to live their life. It is the same thing as a text book or a book a Doctor would read to become a better Doctor. A Suggestive outline and guideline on how to worship and build your faith in God. It is also a history lesson as well.

Basically, you do not have to read the bible to have a cleansed heart and mind and repent for your sins.

And Vinny G, there is only ONE sin that is considered "damnnation" if you will or "unforgiveable" and that is Blasphemy. Choosing to believe that God is not real and that his son Jesus Christ did not die on the cross. It is said that is the only sin, Hitler, Demeo or otherwise, that God will not forgive and allow you to walk in his kingdom of heaven.

Now, its pretty black and white, either you believe in God and what he does or you dont. doesnt mean you are a bad guy either way. Believers like myself think that the non believers will not walk in Gods kingdom when he returns.

Key word in all this Vinny, Believe. Which suggests to some people that religion is nothing more than a theory. I happen to be a believer in Christ and gods kingdom. Some dont, doesnt mean they are right or I am right.

Let me tell you guys a secret: God doesn't exist.

How can anyone win such a debate? We are debating something you can't even prove the existence of. I'm not gonna get into a much deeper discussion, but you talk about believing or not believing, like there are never any gray areas. What about doubt? What about people who don't know? The only thing I know is that I don't know anything and you seem to be claiming to know something that you as a human being, with the same senses I have, possibly couldn't know.



Funny thing about most atheists is they have the same problem as most believers have. They claim to know something they possibly can't know. There is no way for you to disprove God's existence. The same way you can't disprove the existence of vampires or little green men with laser beams shooting out of their eyes. Or the tooth fairy. I think you know where I'm going with this.

Let's speak hypothetically here. If "God", the creator of everything etc. etc. etc., think's in such a simplistic way, he is not God.

Something that always bothers me about religionists is that they truly believe that such an great force (if it happens to exist) would think like us humans.

I myself happen to believe that a supernatural force could exist, after all, who am I to know it doens't exist. I'm a simple human being like we are all. But I dissociate from religion for the reasons I just mentioned. Although I do enjoy all those stories just as I enjoy Lord of the Rings.

I'm not a religionist. I do consider myself an atheist, a devout atheist if you will. I hate that word agnostic, I don't even know why they invented that word. Being atheistic doesn't mean you reject the possibility of God's existence. It simply means you are skeptical of supernatural claims. I belong to the same group, Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins belong to, which is often referred to as the New Atheism movement. We want to raise consciousness, teach people how to be critical thinkers and not be afraid to challenge religion and it's preachers. There is nothing wrong with asking questions.

That sums it up right there. You couldnt be more correct. Infact, some of the people who are in my bible study group now got there because they had doubts, asked questions, got some facts and here they are.

As far at the existence of God, well no one can actually prove the existence of God, but Jesus Christ, yes, that has been proven time and time again that he walked the earth.

Now here is where Vinny's thinking comes in. Even though it is historical factual and proven without any doubts that a man named Jesus Christ at one point walked the earth and did infact die on a cross, it is the questions to some as to what he really was.

some people believe that he was just a normal man like Vinny and I, born, walked the earth and got nailed to a cross and died. We as christians believe he is the son of God and he died with our sins and sacrificed his life for ours.

Again, those facts are proven, Jesus lived,walked the earth and told his followers he was sacrficing himself for us and was nailed to a cross and died. It is what you believe that Jesus really was is the thing. Was he just a man? or was he infact what he says he was. Like I said, Christians believe whole heartedly that he is the son of God and died for us, others dont and that is their right.
