Does anyone know what was the first film to use the 'Godfather' title when referring to a mob boss. It probably wasn't the one this fansite exists for.

As far as I know, the GF was the first time it was used. In fact, the first time that the title received publicity was during Valachi's testimony.

I thought Puzo himself penned the term "Godfather" in regards to the Mafia...



I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol
