After Micheal's "I'll kill them both" speech, the clock behind Sonny's head says 7:00. When Sonny begins speaking again (5-10 movie seconds elapse) the clock says 7:15.

When Kay & Michael are sitting at Connie's wedding - watch how Kay's cigarette keeps changing length as their conversation proceeds.

One of the most oft-mentioned continuity lapses is the way the bullet-hole appears in McCluskey's forehead before he's shot. Another is the way bullet-holes appear, disappear and appear again on Sonny's '41 Lincoln Connie when he's machine-gunned on the causeway.

Hmmm...never noticed this one until now.

As Turnbull noted, there are several well-known (and many not-so-well-known) continuity errors in the GF films. On the Internet Movie Database's Godfather page, you can check out a whole bunch of these by clicking on "goofs". In fact, if one was so inclined (and had a publisher lined up!), one could literally write a book about all the little goofs and errors in the Trilogy.

And yet, they do not diminish the films in terms of their quality and their ability to hold our attention even after repeated viewings.
