I don't want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic. I try to give that to people. I do misrepresent things. I don't tell the truth. I tell what ought to be truth (Blanche/A streetcar named desire)

OK...I'll bite...using the Internet Movie Database for the bulk of the research on this...any factual errors can be attributed to imdb.com

If he turns five this week, it means he was born in 2001. Sofia Coppola was still married to Spike Jonze in 2001 but I haven't found any reference to children from that marriage. And, while Sofia was in GF, I don't believe her mom Eleanor had a part in any of the GF movies, at least not according to IMDB, nor can I find any evidence that Spike Jonze's mom appeared in GF.

Are you godfather to Diane Keaton's adopted son? She adopted a boy in 2001, and my presumption would be that he was an infant at the time of the adoption. I can't find any information about Keaton's parents, she never married so there isn't a paternal grandmother, nor do we know anything about the child's birth parents. On the other hand, if this is true, and his grandmother was in GF, your post probably tells us a little more than it should about the adopted child's background.

As best as I can tell, none of Talia Shire's children appeared in GF, and I can't seem to make a connection between any other actresses that appeared in the GF movies with a mom or daughter that also appeared.

OK...I give...who is it?

And happy birthday to your godson!

Didn't Mrs. Coppola have a part as an 'extra' in the church congregation watching the baptism of Connie's baby (played to perfection by Sofia)?

Well I am flattered you went thru so much research, but i should have pointed out it was not one of the major stars... so i will give it up: the very first scene of the godfather has sonny's 2 twin girls in pink... I am Godfather to her son (the other twin is the Godmother)... and HER mother was in GF2 or 3 i think she was an extra paying respects at a wake, i forget which... At her home, she has some great rare stills from the movie up in her hallway... pix of brando kissing her and her sister off camera, etc... fun stuff... I think they were 8 at the time, now they are obviously in their 40s ... (:

Apple -- I thought she might have been an extra in some crowd scene...but I was also certain she would have been listed in the credits as well. Goodness knows the rest of the family tree gets a credit. Absent the credit, I could only assume she didn't appear.

JRCX -- that's interesting! Did they do any other acting or modeling after GF? How was it (or who did they know) that they landed their roles in GF?

Tony no other acting/modeling that i know of, i will have to ask. GF1 was made with TONs of extras from this tristate area... again, many unknown, my other friend is one carrying out furniture when talia shire goes running into the house screaming at michael when she learns of her husband's death, she gets angry at the moving men and (i think) tells them to stop carrying furniture out, either that or she shoves the guy... (my friend)... now this reminds me, remember the really really heavy (overly obese) guy in the subway chase in carlito's way? that is also an extra, an unknown, a friend of my cousin's - guy just coincidently brought his girlfriend to the audition and they wanted him in the movie instead because he was a "natural" lol.
