I ran this poll for the past month on my blog www.fivefamiliesnyc.blogspot.comColombos 55 (10%) Bonannos 53 (9%) Genovese 88 (16%) Gambinos 66 (12%) Lucchese 37 (6%) Philadelphia 66 (12%) New England 140 (26%) Chicago 27 (5%) Total votes: 532 Over 500 of our readers voted in in our most recent poll and made their intentions known that they would like to see the next mob movie based on the New England mafia, the Patriarca crime family. The Patriarca's have had a storied history especially in recent times. Taken down by FBI informant/murderer Whitey Bulger in the 1980's, followed by a civil war, the reign of Baby Shacks, and the recent defections of Mark Rossetti (apparently another Bulger episode) and the rumored disappearance/defection of Bobby Deluca. This would definitely make very entertaining viewing that's for sure if it ever came to the big screen. Make sure to vote in our new poll!

Tommy Shots: They want me running the family, don't they know I have a young wife? Sal Vitale: (laughs) Tommy, jump in, the water's fine.

Nicky Scarfo. Hands down. I have always thought the Philly family under Scarfo would make the best movie.

Nicky Scarfo. Hands down. I have always thought the Philly family under Scarfo would make the best movie. A movie on the philly guys starting with the Bruno hit would be great. Plenty of violence and intrigue for an action packed 2 hour movie. Those guys literally wiped out half the family and the feds took care of the other half. Not much left until Ligambi started putting things back together. IMO a movie on the Colombo war would be my second choice. And a movie on Gaspipe wouldn't be too bad either. That guy was crazier then scarfo and smarter too. Gas made a shitload of money in his day. Can you imagine if scarfo had cops on his payroll doing hits like gaspipe did.

They can't do the Rizzuto movie yet, they don't know how it ends!
Okla: Lie to no one. If there 's somebody close to you, you'll ruin it with a lie. If they're a stranger, who the fuck are they you gotta lie to them?

Very often, when a book is turned into a movie, the result turns out not that good. The producers are always struggling with squeezing a life story into an one and a half, two hour movie. How are they supposed to do that successfully? That is why people often say "oh, the book was so much better than the movie", because the book is always richer with info and events. As good as, for example, the Donnie Brasco movie is, the book (at least the 1986 edition) is so much better. There is a lot of good stuff in the book, that was never described in the movie. Another thing that is quite irritating (at least to me) is when the same actor appears as the same character throughout the movie, even if the character has aged 40, 50 years. So easy to see all that make up and not many 20 year old actors can act the character of a 70 year old. And vice versa!

No question Scarfo from Bruno's murder on ,The story line writes it self ,will need no bull thrown in.The movie would be on the edge of you seat all the way through.. And Scarfo did have cops,All the way to the top...
