One of our alumni, Krlea (Kris) ran in today's Chicago Marathon and did wonderfully. Kris finished in a personal best time of 2:52:05 and that was good for 43rd place of all women entered!!

Kris was active on our boards a few years back, before her twins were born. Now with three children and all that includes, and training for running, Kris' schedule doesn't allow much internet time, but we miss her and are very happy for her success.

(The New York Marathon is in her future).

Sure, I remember Krlea. Congratulations on a job well done. You certainly must be an awesome condition (and after twins no less) to run a marathon.

Well done, Krlea! My daughter runs marathons, and she'd be proud to have that time! Hell, I'd be proud even to finish a marathon.

Wasn't she living in Florida? I surely do miss her! I'm very happy to hear this, good for her.

No, afs. Kris had been living out in the Pacific northwest and returned to the east coast earlier this year.

I'll bet that anyone who knew her from the board misses her.

BTW - Another old alum from the boards, Saladbar, is into long distance running. Gotta love those fast women.

I finished the Berlin Marathon this year for the 5th time. :-)

Yes, marathoning has given new meaning to what you and I understood "fast women" to mean, SC.

Interestingly, younger men (18-30) still win the male crowns, but women 35-40 consistently are the fastest in half marathons and full marathons--at least in the US. Danito, is that true in the Berlin marathon?

Congrats. I have run a couple of half marathons in my younger days so anyone who goes the full distance has my respect

I have run two full marathons and several half marathons. While I never ran the longer races in Chicago, I did a 10K one year on Thanksgiving. The course provided a great view of the city.
