For all of you out there who are interested in the early Mafia, David Critchley´s book "The Origin of Organized Crime" is an excellent read. There´s a lot of info on tough, proud mafiosi who started the five Mafia Families of New York. In the book you can find a large section describing in detail the "Castellammarese War" that shook the New York underworld back in 1930, the killers as well as the victims. The book is stuffed with pictures, some of them never published before!
