Couldn't see a thread so thought i would make one.

Anyone a fan of the Underbelly series called The Golden Mile. All about Kings Cross in Australia, John Ibrahim etc.

1st series was pretty good also, although haven't seen the second.

lol I'd say the best one is the second one, about Terry Clark bringing in smack from Singapore - you gotta see it man, love the other ones too though

From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn. -Frank White

You say your 72, if they come back and tell me to give you a message - and if you want to defy it ... I assure you that you will never reach 73 - Joey "the clown" Lombardo

The first series, based on the Melbourne gangland murders, was awesome. It had its faults, but it was dark, edgy and possibly the best television series ever produced in Australia, IMO.

The second series...eh. Good premise, interesting story to tell, but the casting of Matt Newton in the main role was a mistake. The guys a shitty actor. They were also starting to reach the farcical levels of boobage that later series would be known for.

Golden Mile, case in point. I like boobs as much as the next guy, but it gets to a point where its like "Damn, we're gonna see more boobs now? We did see some pretty sweet boobs like 23 seconds ago, but okay. Ah next scene...wait a minute, more boobs. And more. Hmm. Did I accidentally tune into softcore porn or is th-ah, here we go, more actual plotlines an- oops, wait, more boob"

The Ibrahim family is pretty interesting in any case, I would have liked it a bit more if it concentrated on his brothers as well. Its gotten to a point now where John Ibrahim gets reported on more in the social sections of newspapers. Also, Blue Murder already did a version of the Rent-a-Kill murder; I like their explanation more than Underbelly's.

Underbelly:Razor; not so much. I keep meaning to sit down and watch it, but as interesting as that era in Sydney is, I cant get into it.

Supposedly later series plan on concentrating on political corruption and bookmaking in Brisbane during the 70's and some of the biker war/clashes. There's tremendous potential for another really great series, I just hop they can tap into it and stop mistaking nudity for plot development.

(cough.)

Sum its up pretty well Mickey, i also wish that they had focused abit more on the Ibrahims rather than multiple stories such as Kim Hollingsworth and the whole prostitute and police storyline.
