I never liked Cat Stevens. Most of his songs sucked. Heard one he other day on a retro station. He did convert to islam and moved to Africa. Carl Simon did indeed have a great voice and I believe she was heir to the Simon and Schuster publishing company.

(CNN) -- A 9-year-old girl learning to fire a submachine gun accidentally killed her instructor at a shooting range when the weapon recoiled over her shoulder, according to Arizona authorities. The instructor, 39-year-old Charles Vacca, died at a hospital Monday night after he was shot in the head.

Sure a sub machine gun right? Machine guns are illegal every where in the US.

Used to be you could get a federal license for Machine guns, in fact that is still true as there are ranges near my town where you can rent them- to shoot on premises. Anyway it was totally irresponsible to have a 9 year old girl out there firing auto weapons. I know there have been ads in Vegas about a range (Probably this one) where you could fire M-60's Uzi's MP 40's Etc.

I feel terrible for both the little girl and the instructor's family. This little girl is going to be traumatized for life. What are they thinking allowing children to play with lethal weapons with live bullets?! Would you allow a 9 year old to drive a car on the highway? No, because they lack the maturity to understand the harm they can do.

I feel sorry for all, but the instructor was an idiot...and so is the parent. The place was called "Bullets and Burgers." It should be Bozos and Buffoons."

This is not the first time that bringing a young child to a firing range to film him or her has ended in tragedy. It won't be the last.

It was just announced that comedian, Joan Rivers, was rushed to the hospital. She apparently was at a clinic getting some vocal chord surgery & stopped breathing. Last report said she was in critical condition. Don't know any more details.

It's 4:00 on the east coast. I'm guessing American productivity is very low on a sunny Friday before a long weekend. I know that I've mentally checked out.

Everyone tried to get an early start on the weekend here in NYC. However, they are all stuck in traffic trying to get to where they're going! It's best to leave tomorrow morning and save yourself the aggravation.

Joan Rivers has been put on life support, TMZ reports.

According to sources, the comedian's family maintains faith in Rivers' ability to bounce back even if they decide to turn off the machines. They still have a few days to make a decision whether or not they will take Rivers off life support.

Was always into the Dean Martin Roasts... and after many years of seeing the "infomercials", I caved in to the "5 easy payments"... (still too much money, but, I figure I could always resell it all after I watch it)

But, OMG... I don't think TV will ever equal what that was, ever again!

I'm only about 12 episodes into it all, but just seeing/reliving so many faces and memories -- so worth it!

...and I tell you what -- I thought Don Rickles would be the star of it all - but no! Freakin' FOSTER BROOKS is the true star!! Episode upon episode, just hilarious acting like a drunk moreso than even Dino himself! lol

Nobody will miss Joan Rivers.

Her comments about Palestinian children being massacred were absolutely repulsive.

I always watch that infomercial when I see it on TV. I've seen videos of the roasts on youtube, they're so much funnier than the roasts today and they didn't have to cuss in every other sentence like these modern roasts. I'll have to look into buying it.

Those roasts were great and you are right: no swearing, just good comedy.
