he does not want to make distinctions between Italians and others, he has only created a meeting place for Italians, but all are welcome, this is just my opinion..

Mooney is right, I did not want to make a distinction between talian and others and just a cool place where who is Italian, can know who in the site, is Italian. Of course the post is open to all, but SC is not that you can close it if sometimes we write a few phrases in Italian.

Anything not in English should be translated like you did in the first post -- but those translations need to be accurate. No "secret" clubs allowed here. Other than that, enjoy....

Anyone who is Italian, or resides in Italy for years, can write in this post.

What about those who are Italian-whatever?
I thinks it would be an interesting way to touch bases with the "forgotten" italians.

I was born in the US. My mom's from rural Lombardia and my dad's family is from Mezzojuso (PA). I speak Italian perfectly (but I do respect and agree with the moderator's views in keeping this thread in English).

I know tons of Italian-Americans in the greater North-East, plus Ontario, Canada.
Mostly in Canada (maybe due to their less strict immigration policies) I've met dozens of young Italian-born expats (from waiters and pizzamakes to self-employed professionals and Ph.Ds)

Every time I go back to the Old Country I'm shocked by how few Italians aknowledge the huge communities that thrive to this day beyond Italy's borders.

I can give you some interesting places and events to go to in North America where you can truly feel like Italy.

Thanks Furio for opening this club.
Tanti saluti a tutti quanti.

I'm not quite sure what exactly is to be posted here but I'm in the Italian (Italian American) club, though I was born in the U.S. My Father and both sides of grandparents came from Sicily (Trapani & Paceco). I've never been to Italy but would love to go one day soon.

I do wish I knew how to cook more Italian food than I do because as we all know it's an Italian commandment that one eat and eats well. lol And I do a good job of that. LOL

welcome aboard luanKuci and italian stalionette, I opened this post so that anyone who is Italian or stranger who, however, are in Italy for a long time (many Chinese speak Italian anymore that the Chinese, and no longer want to return to China) the so-called new Italians, and, why not Italian-Americans who speak Italian or anyone who wants to speak in Italian because he wants to show his roots. However we can also speak in Italian, but you always translate into English, otherwise we risk to create a '' secret club''.IT Stallionette i will post in the food and drink forum the recipe for a Neapolitan ragu (sauce with meat).

Thanks for the recipe, but why do I feel like you're giving me the boot? Oh, and I don't mean Italy. tongue Get it? Boot? I have a "root in the boot" too.

If only there was, like, an engine for internet searching. And it had something like a 'translate' function.

furio -

I'm not sure if you understand English.... I'll say it ONE more time. Your posts here should be written in English. Do you understand that?

It's not open to debate if you should be allowed to post in Italian. Do you understand that?

You're really pissing me off with your constant whining about posting in Italian. It's not a good thing to piss me off. Do you understand that?
