So this thread is about some of the guys who have been locked away for a long time and forgotten about, but are still relatively young and have a chance of getting out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_CoonanJimmy Coonan has been locked up since 1988 and could get out in 2036, he'd be 89 so his chances aren't too great, but it's possible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemini_twins_%28mafia%29#Gemini_twins The Gemini Twins have both been locked up since 1989. They are serving life but both are 56 so they have a decent chance of paroling some day. So if you know any more guys who have been away for a long time but might get out post them here. Also, do you think that guys who do really long sentences go back to their old families and get involved again or does being away all those years lose them their position?

Gambino soldier Gene Gotti comes to mind, sentenced to 50 years in 1989. Gene's projected release date is September 14, 2017, when he would be 71 years old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Gotti

There would be no justice if the Gemini Twins get out, their Psychopaths who don't deserve to see the light of day. Plenty of other mobsters did, and still do the same things they did. They just got busted for it. I'm sure Gene Gotti murdered and dismembered plenty of people back in his day.

That must burn his ass with the heat of a thousand suns.

That must burn his ass with the heat of a thousand suns. I was thinking that to. John Gotti wouldn't let them take deals so he gets 50. Then last year about 100 Gambinos get busted and they plea out and most will be out in 3 years. And on top of that Gotti allies aren't in control anymore so if he does get out he won't have as high of a spot as he deserves for the time he did.

Does anyone agree or think Gotti was right with no plea deals? What were the reasons for no plea's? if he didnt make that rule many guys would of gotten out at least half of the time they did/ received. Did anyone still Plea out when Gotti was boss? ( besides his son)
That was a horrible rule imo. The Genovese's were the ones known for cutting plea deals when they got busted and as a result they had way fewer rats than the other families because instead of looking at 15-20 years guys would plea and do 5 or so and then parole. And it worked for them as the Genovese's are definitely the best off of the 5 families. But now they all plea, as you could see in the Gambino bust last year. The reason for the no plea rule was that back in the day no one was to admit that the mafia existed or to ever give the cops any information about anything. By cutting a deal for racketeering you are basically admitting you were a mafia member and that was a big no-no. That worked ok in the 50s when guys were getting shorter sentences, but when RICO came along and guys starting getting what amounted to life sentences for racketeering and drug charges it wasn't worth it anymore.

Imagine not having sex throughout your 30s and 40s poor guy lol He would have had Plenty of opportunity to have sex...................just not the kind he was wanting!!! LMAO I agree, the Gemini Twins will never get out! DeMeo had the last laugh on those two. Nor will Henry Borelli (people sometimes forget about him). Borelli has actually been eligable for parole since 1996 but has never applied because he knows he wont have a cat in hells chance of being released. Gene Gotti should get out in the next few years where you would think he would have the sense to live his time out quietly. What about Gravano? Will he ever get out?

It's Fredo. "[Anthony] Ace Aiello is like a Luca Brasi," Basciano said, comparing the Bonanno sodlier to the Corleone's loyal hit man, on recordings played in Brooklyn federal court yesterday. "He's your Luca Brasi," Basciano said. " http://fivefamiliesnyc.blogspot.com/2011/04/joseph-big-joey-massino-recordings.html

George Zappola gets out sometime in 2014, he got nailed in the early-mid 90's, and did a lot of heavy work for Gaspipe Casso. George Conte and Anthony Bowat Barratta, both Casso loyalist who went down with Zappola get out before or the same time too. These guys should have never seen the light of day again, but were smart enough to take plea deals. Zappolla was charged with four murders alone. There are guys who fight one murder charge and get life!
Joey Merlino's father is another one who could get out in a few years if he could last that long believe it or not. He went down with Scarfo, so he has probably already been in the can 20 plus years now. yep i was just thinking of these lucchese guys, heavy hitters all around that fam is getting some big players back on the streets in the next few yrs
