Hi guys had a few questions I would appreciate clearing up on Gotti Jr.
1. When he was a Capo what crew did he run? 2. Who are some of the made members of the crew and what are they doing now in the family? 3. Who is running that crew now? 4. Did any of the top hierarchy in the Gambino's actually like/ respect him? like D'Amcio, Corrozzo etc 5. When did he cease Mafia involvement? 6.Do you believe he has absolutely no contact with the family now? Nicky, here are some of the answers (This is according to turncoat Mikey "Scar" DiLeonardo): Gotti Junior was given his own crew to lead by his father in 1990. When Junior became the acting boss of the Gambinos in 1991, Bobby Boriello (a crew member) became acting capo of this crew. Boriello was killed in april 1991 and was succeeded by Tommy "Sneakers" Cacciopoli. Other made members of this crew were: Vinny "Butch" Corrao (who later took over Joe "Butch" Corrao´s crew), Carmine Agnello, John "Jackie" Cavallo, Charlie "Carnegs" Carniglia (who later switched to Sal Scala´s crew), Dominick "Fat Dom" Borghese (who had transfered from D´Amico´s crew and later turned informant) and Craig DePalma (son of Greg and like Borghese later turned informant). I think all these guys were made around 1990, 1991 and 1992. Of cours, Junior was made in 1988. It seems that Tommy "Sneakers" Cacciopoli is the official capo nowadays. That´s how he is listed anyway. I believe (but who´s to say for sure?) that Junior has left the life for good. It sure looks like it.

Junior certainly had a lot more success in the court room, success that wasn't bought either.

You mean enjoy life anyway? Yes, I believe that is why he's out of the family, many mobsters were just as glad to see him go, as he was glad to walk away from the life. However, just like Gravano, who got sent away for running drugs in Arizona, once a gangster always a gangster. So I'm sure Junior is still involved in criminal activity. I'm also sure he keeps in some contact with the Gambino's, after all most of his relatives are members. One thing about him is he's a tough guy.
About Sliwa, he is a jerk. Sliwa had the nerve to disrespect not just Junior, which would not have been too bad, but all of Italian Americans.

I just turned on 970 AM and Sliwa is ranting again about Gotti Jr. because one of Gotti's men is being sentenced tomorrow for his role in the assassination attempt of Sliwa.
Sliwa is an idiot, but his radio show covers mafia stories. In my opinion, if Sliwa weren't so unlikeable, Junior would have been convicted in the first trial (2005). The vote was 11-1 in favor of conviction. The one holdout juror couldn't symapthize with Sliwa because he's such an obnoxious asshole. If not for that, it's very likely that Junior would be rotting in prison right now. He's very lucky.

You really think that?
I didn't know he came so close to conviction either

Not the smartest kid around, but tough. And I'm sure he still knows a lot of members, he was acting boss at one point, let alone all of his connected family members. But he would be incredibly stupid to still be involved in any criminal activity. The Feds would love nothing more than locking Junior up after all the mistrials. He's like a lightning rod for the FBI. Plus, he's got money, why go back? But then again, maybe he is that stupid.

Can't believe this guy still lives in his Oyster Bay mansion. His whole lifestyle was financed with dirty mob money. His trucking businesses, real estate holdings -- it was all dirty. How come the fed's were never able to prove it was dirty and then seize all of his assets? Anyways, something tells me that sooner or later Junior will slip up and he will, eventually, go down big time! I keep hoping that they will be able to prove that Junior was the one who stabbed that guy in the nightclub back in the '80s. He deserves life just for that!
